Hey today my friend who has a 2006 Slk 350 (Auto in "sport" mode stock wanted to do a quick run today when we saw each other on the road. I have an ap2 (07) with just a invidia exhaust (soon to be fi).

we raced from a slow roll so i wouldnt have to launch
i was in 2nd gear at 15 mph (i know i shoulda been at 1st) and kept even until 6k and than pulled about 1 car on him, went to 3nd and pulled another 1/2 a car shifted to 4th and he still couldn't bring it any closer. shut off at the end of 4th with about a 1 1/2 car on him.

Now hes gonna go get the renntech package lol

 

So you pulled on him two times in second gear?

 

HAHA "started in 2nd....shifted into second" If you started in 2nd going 15 mph and he didnt pull you...WOW thats all i have to say.

 

ooops lol my bad... yeah i was disappointed in that thing too

 

they're too heavy. though i thought there's quicker than that...IIRC when i saw their trap speed a while ago i was surprised, but i can't remember what they trap lol

 

The autos should run at 5.5, some even got them down to 5.4... But the 7G gearbox also has a tendency to dumb down the ride by going to a more chilled out mode if the owner doesn't keep driving peppily.

That, and the SLK's a pretty heavy car overall.
