That Awkward Moment When...
Over the weekend I was a few towns over and had a hartop Miata behind me revving his engine while sitting at a light to hop on the interstate. I usually don’t race but decided to just leave him sitting there...and I did. Took it up to about 90 and backed off. That apparently wasn’t enough and he wanted to go again. Pulled him hard from about 65 up to about 115 and I backed off. Once he caught up, I gave him the peace sign while chuckling and we parted ways at the next exit. From the sound of it, he had an exhaust and intake as well as aftermarket wheels. 2000-2001 NB, no boost.
This evening I walked into the local auto store to pick up some Griots detailer. The guy at the counter said he thought he saw me on the interstate the other day as he was looking out the window at the S. I kinda half-heartedly cringed while laughing and asked, how fast was I going? I knew I was only on the interstate once over the weekend. He said, I was in the black Miata.... I busted out laughing. Awkward, I know. Truth is, he’s a nice guy and obviously a car guy. Half my age but always good to have one more you know. Never know who you’ll run into after you’ve raced them.

I've had this happen to me..... A few years back I had a rsx type-s that had full bolt-ons, cams, kpro and 5.0 final drive... A 08-ish civic si was trying to get me to race but I blew him off as I do most idiots that do that. But he kept following me and we came to an open double lane road so I said what the hell and gave him what he wanted. Absolutely handed his ass to him. Probably 6 cars by 120mph lol. He flashed his lights as i cruised off in the distance... Maybe 2 months later I was at a Halloween party and this kid I've never met before comes up to me and asks if that was my rsx outside and I said yes. He burst out laughing and said he drives the civic that I raped a while back. He turns out to be a nice guy and we now ride dirt bikes together....
