Default beat a ferrari (for real)

I was on my way to the interstate with one of my female friends in the car and I saw this red (yes red can you believe it) Ferrari pulling out of the gas station. Of course I cut her off in the middle of her sentence and pointed at the Ferrari. She didn't seem that impressed (I'll have to dump her for that). Anyway, I keep looking back in the mirror hoping to see it again when I see it come flying through traffic and get on my ass. I'm thinking this is the coolest thing in the world (she thinks it's stupid and macho). As soon as I get off the on-ramp we both punch it. I can't believe it but I'm actually pulling on him. By the time I cut it off at about 125 he's probably 7-8 car lengths behind me. He stayed back there for a while but eventually pulled next to me when we got into heavy traffic. He was probably close to 50 and had his son (grandson) in the car with him. Both of them had the biggest smiles I've ever seen on there face and gave me a big thumbs up. It was Ferrari 328 by the way. I think that means 3.2 litre V-8. I don't know what kind of power those make but it was a cool experience anyway.

I doubt that he/she is racing. Or the Ferarri was running on only 4cyl instead of 8.

I think that the S2000 should have easily won like he did, the 328 isn't all that. Not sure on the hp of it, but i'll try to find out. I would hate to see what would happen against a 308.

The 85-89 328GTS has 270hp and 224lbs/ft and has a 5sp manual, depneding on how those gears are space that could put it at a major disadvantage to start. I'll try to find the gear ratios and some stats.

Good kill, and its nice to hear no bad vibes flying from anybody on this deal. No snobby Ferrari driver, and you were cool about it as well, good for you.

Anybody with a Ferrari that is willing to race is ok by me. It really gave me this warm and fuzzy feeling. It was nice to get an enthusiasic thumbs up and a smile from someone in a Ferrari (or any car for that matter)I think a lot of people could learn a lesson from that guy. He doesn't care if he gets beat. He knows there are cars out there that are newer and faster but he doesn't care. He just loves cars. And he loves his car in particular.BTW, his plates said --- WOE-HRSY --- I think thats cool as hell.

328 GTS/GTB Quattrovalvole's where 260 bhp @ 7000 rpm / 213 ft lbs @ 5500 rpm...

0-60 6.0, 1/4 mile in 14.5 @ 96mph so I am not surprised that an S2000 would beat it.

308 GTSi/GTBi 214bhp @ 7700 / 180ft lbs @ 5000.
0-60 7.9, 1/4 mile 16.1@89

GTS's where Targas and GTB's where solid fixed roofs.

Their are little visual cues to the differences between the 308 and 328

Too right! Why own a sports car and not see what it can do from time to time - thanks for posting this I was only thinking the other day how an S2000 would stack up against a 328 - on paper they seemed pretty well matched.
