Beating up the little guys
For the last month or so my timing chain tensioner has been going bad, for that reason I've been reluctant to beat on the car. Trying to stay out of it as much as possible. Well last night I finally got the opportunity to replace it. I went out for drive, itching to unleash a little VTAK powa that I've been deprived of lately
As I roll up to a light I see a nicely fixed up Celica. I pull up next to it and the driver gives a glance over in my direction, then concentrates on the light. When the light turns I roll off nice and easy and the Celica takes off. I run it up to redline as I fly by. I look in the rearview to see how far back the car is when I notice a Lancer (not evo) aggressively change lanes and race to catch up with me, what this guy is thinking... I have no idea. I'm slowing for a light, in 3rd gear around 20 when the light changes. The Lancer goes flying by me with his farty exhaust. I casually cruise up to 45 in 3rd nearly stopping his pull while still miles from my powerband. He's got me by 3-4 car lenghts at this point. I decide it's time to go, drop it to 2nd and blast by like he was sitting still.
Certainly nothing to brag about, but sure was nice to get the blood flowing again

i HATE it when they call me and ask what bolts onto a Lancer ES from a Evo9. NOTHING!

The worst thing I ever had happen was on Yahoo chat some kid IM'ed me asking if removing the muffler on is Tercel would give him power. I said maybe 1-2hp in the upper range with a lot of low-down power lost and it would sound like SHIT. He said he mainly wanted it to be louder. I then asked why the hell he would want people to notice him in traffic. That is counterproductive in a Tercel!
