Hey if you own a black S2000 and raced a silver eclipse tonight in Conneticut, that was me. I was impressed that i kept up, I think i even pulled on you a little until i hit my fuel cut off from overboosting due to my injectors. Thumbs up to you, if you are a member of this site, it was a cool race and my car suprised me.

Yeah I'd love to hear about it also, seeing that I live in CT also and I too drive a silver Eclipse, just a GS... I raced last year a yellow one, what seemed modded, driven by an Asian guy. That race of course, went my way. In Wethersfield, to not name exact places incase this site is monitored...

I have a 99 GSX. I really didnt expect to win. I have a bunch of mods. lets see, Hahn 16G turbo, Greddy IC pipes with type A bov, Jun flywheel, 3 inch exhaust from headers back (thermal), KnN intake, Fluidlyne radiator, and I had a Profec A Boost Controller but i uninstalled it. I'm trying to sell the car and I cant stop the car from overboosting. Something about the type of exhaust I have not having any backpressure and the turbo I have, I guess the ECU cant control the boost accuratly, I'm not sure. I can pretty much full 95 percent throttle the car without any problems, but eventually if i put it to the floor there is a fuel cutoff. Sucks. I also have suspension and rims. Actually i'm trying to sell the car so i can get an S2000. The S i raced was stock as far as I could tell. I dont care if my car is faster in a straight line than the S, its not that much quicker that I can tell, and i know i would have my a$$ handed to me in the corners. S2000 is an incredible car. Lots of respect right here. I notice the drivers are nice too, most people I race, are pricks. Funny how certain type of people buy certain types of cars.
The race was close as far as i can tell, at first I didnt think he wanted to race, but he passed me pretty quickly on a straight, and I sped up to about 100 to catch up, we got in some traffic and i was in front, and he pulled next to me, I tapped my brakes to slow down to about 70, waited, he was there with me, about even, i was a little behind, and then I punched it, let off so he would punch it, and then i punched it again. Pulled on him slightly, by the time we reached 100-110, i was probably half a car to a 3/4 a car in front and still pulling slightly, but then i let off due to fuel cutoff. Good race tho. Honestly I think If I could have been driving both cars at the same time, I think the S would have won. I dunno if he was shifting properly or not, but i know he was WOT, cause i could hear it. Sounded sweet!!

With your mods it's not that surprising that you were pulling on him, even if it was a little. A GSX is no slouch. I have a few friends with them. One guy ran a 12.2 with a 98. Another friend with a lot less mods than the 98 ran a 13.3. GSX's respond very well to mods. My other buddy has a 92 Talon TSi AWD. He dynoed at 330 hp at 18 psi. He also ran a 12.2 last year, with a smaller turbo than his current set up.

 

sounds like you have a really nice car. that was the car i wanted to get when i got my license but i didn't want it used. i got my license in 2000 and that was the change of the body style and no more turbo so instead i got a Subaru Impreza 2.5 rs. go ride of that and got the S2000 in 2002. i love this car and would not be happier with anything else. it is a blast to drive and hope you get your S soon
