Actually I'll bet that take the average CLS and the average stook driver... the CLS will win off the line... reason is the stook is pretty damn hard to launch correctly.

Raced TL Type S and downshifted to 4th gear while going 50-55mph. Pretty even untill I heard that.....VTEC!!! If I downshifted to 3rd gear, probably pulled on him pretty hard.

Both TL/CL Type S had no chance either off the line or rolling...

Finally raced a cl-s last night 40-90, he had a jump on me but i pulled a little at the end. He wouldn't even look at me at the next light. The Cl-S is still a fast car. I hear theyre going to put a 6sp in it, now that should be a better race. I beat some old man in a new continental too, 45-80, no prob.

Rolling I agree... off the line, perhaps you are a better driver than I, but I do'nt think I could take one initially seeing as the car is hard to launch.

It depends on if the driver was using the 5 speed sequential shifter or not...

I don't think they come with manuals, but I could be wrong.

The SS makes the shifting little bit faster than the automatic mode, and you could red line with it. (I had ss for my prelude. New englnad driving isn't the best thing for manual transmission).

The car has good hp, but way too heavy with unneccesary wood and leather trims. s2k could take it anyday... anywhere. unless uphill race

Just thought i'd chime in about the CL-S. A couple of months ago one of my boyz bought a red 2001. Anyways, around my way i'm top-dog so we decided to see if i still could maintain the crown. We started with a roll-on @ about 25 mph......i pulled a car length on him instantly and increased that distance to about 3 car lengths by 90 mph. A second roll-on at 40..near same results. Now, for the "drag" take-off. Well, you guessed it, i tore up my 1-2 shift, recovered, but by that time he was a car length ahead....but i was catching up by 80mph. 2nd drag launch, same results (again i ground the gears). 3rd, i finally launched properly (@ about 6500), dumped the clutch and actually concentrated on the 1-2 shift. after moderate tire-spinning i immediately took a car length lead, which turned into a 2 car-length lead by 80mph. i consistenly beat him by this margin another two times (got my shifting in check..lol). He had his traction-control off at all times. Now i'd like to add that a week prior we g-tech'd his car in 0 - 60...6.3!! first time out. 6.1 his best. I'm sorry, i can't remember his 1/4 times but they were in line with his 0-60. i tried to factor in that he only weighs about 160-170 and one out of every batch of cars is going to be a little faster than the rest. In any event i was impressed. I've been autocrossing longer than some of my younger bretheren here have had their licenses and been street-racing bikes and cars for longer than i care to admit, so i feel that i'm a reliable source, and i tell you that these cars are fast for all the amenities you get. Btw, the best g-tech i ran was 5.5 @14.1.......
