Called out by an Altima 3.5
6pm, on the freeway with a pack of ignorant, cell-phone busy drivers surrounding my car in traffic and this blue Altima 3.5 pushes hard in 1 gear past me, slows down next to me and repeats a few times.
I have no room to be playing with this guy safely and you can't believe just how bad I wanted to show this fool up, but it wasn't under the right conditions so I sucked it up and played the "s2k was too scared to race" role.
The Altima had some big wheels, was lowered with dual exhaust. It wasn't so much that the guy was trying to call me out... it was the stupid sounding whatever exhaust he was running. Man did it sound crappy.

I've beaten a G35 sedan with exhaust on the freeway for being cocky like that. Cockass!

An Altima 3.5L, a G35 coupe, a hardtop 350Z.
I'd figure that the Z would pull ahead due to things such as weight and gearing since the power output seems close enough, however is the gearing between the Altima and the G35 similar/the same or are they completely different?

I've always wondered what would happen if all the 3.5's were to line up and do a rolling race.

Well, I think whichever has better gear ratios, aerodynamic drag, lighter weight, etc. will win. The Altima actually dynoes less than the other ones because its engine is restrictive compared to those other ones.
I've never seen a built Altima 3.5SE before, but I've seen the new 3.5SE Maximas and the MT versions does move rather well from what I've seen, despite its weight. I'd imagine that the Altima may be quicker due to less weight, but you're right on about drag and gearing which matters just as much.
