Default Can I lose to a minivan?

Driving home from work today, I am at a stop light next to an old ass minivan with some guy in it. The light turns green and I take off normal, only to hear the sound of a horse, screeching in pain as it gets its nuts ripped off. Okay, well, so there really wasn't a horse, but that's about the sound the van's engine made. The guy was flooring it like the little train that could. I easily just stayed ahead of him, and we got stopped at another light.

He didn't look at me at all, so I decided to try a little experiment. Shift at 6000rpm. Light turns, and sure enough, he once again guns it, creating the horsey noise. I floor it, shifting at 6000rpm, and easily beat him. I end up getting stoppped at a few more lights, but none next to him. I maneuver a bit, and get to one last light before I have to turn. Okay, shift at 4500rpm.

Light turns, and he actually gets a slight chirp from the tires. Either that, or he hit an elf when he took off. Anyways, shifting at 4500rpm, I am barely able to stave him off to 60mph. However, my top end is killer, and I pull good to about 75mph when I shut down with about 1 1/2 lengths to my win.

I don't know what's more pathetic. The fact that I shifted at about 4500rpm and still edged out this POS, or the fact that I actually took time to share this story.

Or the fact that you actually bothered and cared enough to see how little it would take.

A guy that comes to the local strip "collects" these dodge vans for some very strange reason. He currently has 3 of them. His fastest is mid 13's. The ol 2.2 turbo is easy to make fast..... GLH's = sleeper car of the 80's in a straight line.
