Default Corvette vs. S2000

Tonight has been the greatest achievement of all the days of the S2000. I have defeated the Prince of the Domestics, the "Corvette."

Holding it steady at 7000 rpm in 3rd gear, a brand new 2001 Corvette Convertable and I raced for pure glory. And to my surprise, the stook spreaded it's wings and soared away! Actually, I pulled him for a sec in 3rd, then leveled off in 4th, and was dead even! I had him by less than a half a car. The only mod to my car is the SPOON Exhaust. I can't believe I beat him, so I am still shaking from the experience.

Another member of s2ki.com, Red Blur was in the car with me!

I have never been so proud to own an s2000....

I will NEVER understand the fascination regarding drag-racing with a car that so clearly was not designed to do so...

All about speed, and the S2000 has plenty of it.

Pleez, it's not like he's gonna tell the vette owner to drive over to the local autox and proceed to race him there. He had the chance to run a fast car so where's the crime in that? You telling me you NEVER race anybody on the street?!

PFB - Ok, this handling/racing debate is getting annoying.

I am totally aware of the fact that the S2000 is a pure bred race car. It can handle like a champ and beat cars considered of a higher caliber. I too race when I get a chance in Sebring racetrack in FL.

Because of this attributes, am I only obligated to race on a track only! Absoutely NOT! The S2000 is not a Mazda Miata. Aside from its handling capabilites, it is also a very fast car. Adding performance parts to it makes it a considerable competiter on the street. So if I am driving on a local highway enjoying myself, and a fast competiter come along, do I not have the right to race him for enjoyment? Maybe I should ask him to pull over, talk to him about my cars HANDLING, and ask him to road race on some curvy streets. No, not really realistic.

All I am saying is that I fully appreciate the car as a handling car, and I use it for that reason, but I also take advantages of the cars other special qualities! So regardless of my location, I will never back down from a race, whether it being the racetrack or street....
