Sorta had a run with a stock looking mkV last night. Was behind him at a light. When the light turns green he seems to roll out normal, but I guess it just took a bit for his turbo to spool. I had shifted to 2nd not thinking he was going to take off. When I did realize he was WOT, I got on it as quick as I could. Started from about 1.5-2 lengths back and by the time I got to ~75-80, I'd closed the gap, jumped into the other lane and pulled my nose to his door. The street we were on is well known as a cop hang out, so I shut down, but was easily walking him. He slowed and we gave each other thumbs up.

I was driving calmly through an office complex boulevard and I see these HIDs several cars behind cutting through traffic. He gets up next to me and paces me for a sec, but then just slowly drives on away. So didn't think much of it. There is a light ahead and we both are stopped. This road is a little funky...it has brick inlaid into the asphalt at the stops...and this particular light is maybe 100yds from the next light...not really enough room for a race. But the Rotorhead decides to jump out when the light turns green. I get wheel spin on the brick, and he shoots out about a CL ahead. But as soon as I get grip, I roar past about 1/2 a CL ahead and slam on the brakes for the next light. He complements my ride and then makes a right.

My car has 4.57 and tuned i/h/tp/e.

 

Nice kills. Only raced one gti and definitely stopped his pull and pulled a couple lengths by 3rd. Never raced an rx8 yet. Would love to though.
