Has anyone raced a boxter?
Ok, here's the story, I was behind this black boxter at a traffic light, and when the light turned green he just took off, I followed him, changed lane and overtook him, then we got to the next traffic light, light turned green and we took off, he had no chance right from first gear, I just kept pulling away. Then I slowed down, turned left onto a freeway, I was in 6th gear doing around 100km/h and he flew past me so I downshifted to 3rd and I caught him slowly and overtook him. Then I got off the freeway, he beeped twice and kept going, and I waved. Seemed a bit too easy for a boxter, does anyone know why? I'm thinking it must be the old model boxter with automatic gearbox. What do u think?
I raced one on the highway one from about 60mph to 140mph. Traffic broke, he pulled out with a downshift, I followed behind in the same manner and then switched to the high-speed lane. By the time I reached 140mph, he was about a dozen cars behind. The regular Boxsters are not fast at all. The only competition for the S2K is the Boxster S.

A client of mine has a new Boxter S and we've traded cars before for fun. I think the Boxter S would probably be quicker from a stop light, but the S2000 feels much more agile and light in the curves. The S2000 could loose the Boxter on a mtn road.
A former boss of mine traded in his Boxster for a Boxster S right when they first came out. Of course he wanted to race...His car was brand new- he had it for about a week. Took off from a rolling 1st gear start, and he immediately had about a 1/2 to 3/4 car length lead. In second gear, I definately made up lost ground. He shifted...I was in vtec, and still not shifting to third. Once in third, I was ahead by about 3/4 to one car length. I will have to say that his car obviously wasn't broken in yet, because the next time we raced a few months later...This time from a standing start- I bogged- and it was basically over. He was immediately up by two cars, and I just held that margin from there.

I had a Boxster S with an aftermarket exhausts system to do an article about it.
I jumped to the opportunity of testing it against the S2K.
So I called another S2K owner down here and off we went to a deserted stretch of road (1/4 mile, maybe a little bit longer).
The S2K wasn't stock also: Mugen header, Mugen exhaust, K&N , Back Yard air plate and ProFlow Throttle body.
I though that the S2K wouldn't had a chance from a dead stop. Was I wrong!
The Boxster indeed jumped ahead almost a full car lenght but by the end of first gear the S2K was besides the Boxster S. Second gear the S2K pulled away. Third I was reading his license plate and pulling away. I doubt that I could have catch him.
