Default Damnit, just got rear ended!

So today like around 6:30pm I was coming home from a meeting in Thousand Oaks when I was at a stop light and all of a sudden I felt a smash and a BOOM - Damn, I just got rear ended.

My cabin all of a sudden started to smell like burnt fluid, so I shut off my car and look in my rear view mirror.. a Toyota Corolla, burgundy.

I got out my car and walked over. Both airbags on her car deployed and to my surprise - guess what was in between her face and the airbag? a Mapquest print out!

Surprisingly the damage to my car was minor, just a few scratches from the rear bumper. With the exception of the burnt fluid smell in my car and my car not starting up, I originally thought just a rear bumper replacement.

The damage to her car was substantial. Front end smashed, both airbags blew..

Got a police report and everything..

what do you guys suggest should she try to somehow blame it on me?

You possibly have frame structure damage. If her car is as badly damaged as this, yours definitely has more to it then you think.

she cant blame it on you. no matter what, if a car hits a car in front of it, its the person behind who's at fault. for example, there are 2 cars lined up at a light, one in back of the other. another car comes and smashes into the back of the 2nd car in line. if the 2nd car in line (the one that got rear-ended) hits into the car infront of him, im pretty sure the 2nd car (middle car) is responsible for paying the damage of the car in front; and the driver who smashed into the middle car is responsible for hitting the middle car. im not positive, but thats what i remember. so in conclusion, in any scenario, the car that hits another car from behind is responsible. how would she blame it on you?

Why is it in street encounters? Like brushman said, it happened in the streets and it was an encounter.. a little too close if you ask me.

Story goes, Corolla tried to take me, I pulled a 1/4 mile on her, and she thought she do a ricer fly-by in my rear bumper at 40 mph.

Thank god I gave myself a good distance between myself and the car in front of me.

There are situations where the car in front is responsible, and it's a scam people pull every day. It's called swoop and squat. Where a car will pass you on your left or right slowly, then suddenly "swoop" in front of you, mashing on the brakes at the same time. They are betting you will hit them, and they will blame you saying you were tailgating and file false insurance claims with neck and back injuries.

This usually only happens when there are no witnesses around to corroborate the victims story. I doubt she would blame you for pulling a swoop and squat, but hopefully you have witnesses just in case.
right, people would use the "swoop and squat" because the car behind is always at fault. (even though the car that jumped infront did something shady) so in the event of a "swoop and squat", the car behind (although is the victim) will still have to pay because 90% of the time, a cop will give it to the person who got hit.
