Default Delsol Run

A friend of mine has a DelSol with a B18C5 , chip, header, exhaust, lightend flywheel, but running 17 inch rims. What do you think would win in a straight line. MY00 has a comptech intake... that all for now. Ive seen posts about 4th gen hatch backs with a B18C5 and simmilar mods but isnt a Delsol heavier than a 4th gen hatch?
We never actually had a chance to go... Just curious if i'm gonna get my a$$ handed to me... so im not supprised...

well i don't exactly know how fast are delsol's with b18c5 swap in them but i sure there quite fast...and i think delsol is heavier than 4th gen civic hb with same swap and mods on it....i raced one and i think it all depends on the driver...should be close but i think u should have no problem in the higher end...just give it a try

Ya next summer were gonna run for sure. I'm planning on modding my car and want to do it over the winter... do i do the mods before or after the race... although i dont think an exhaust is going to make much of a difference anyways...

well u could try racing it vs your stock s2 first and see how it does...but i pretty sure that even not much difference...my buddies 93 hb civic b18c5 swap would of whooped my ass if i was bone stock...i wasn't bone stock when i raced him...i am pretty modded and some weight reduced on my ride..

Your in for trouble......

With the mods you mentioned on the del it's going to be able to hit low/mid 13's. I've ridden in a del with similar mods and it yanked pretty good......

My del sol was never heavily modded but I've seen some that could blow doors off......

Good luck.......tell us what happens.......I'm curious.

actually ya i didn;t see what your mods were running...u better get some weight reduced and some more mods then yes u might have a good chance of not letting the delsol take u...but it will walk u if your only running an intake with stock weight also...be prepared!!!

Hmm I think you should be able to take him on even with thoses mods. Cause one of the guys on the s2ki board took on a Civic si with the same mods you mention and whooped his ass pretty badly still
Let me know when your about to run him cause I'm around the kitctherner area and i want to have this on video

that is true...that guy took out a 99 civic si coupe with a b18c5 swap in it with similair mods...99 civic coupes weigh in around 2600 lbs or so...and my buddies 93 civic hb b18c5 swap with same mods was running in around 2400 lbs...i guess ya u probabely will take him

I wouldn't be so sure of putting this one away in the win box yet. A stock B18c5 is 194hp to the crank. With the mods listed, that c5 is going to be damn near close to 185-200whp if its properly tuned and a tight running engine! If thats the case that is around the same amount of whp that a stock S2k is putting down, plus the weight advantage goes to the Del. Also if your not experienced with the launch of the S2 or shifting properly you might not want to post this topic again because the longer the race goes the uglier its going to get. Practice driving the S2 and get some mods on YOUR list. Also, get some lightened parts, CF hood, CF trunk, take out the spare, loose 100 lbs ! Good luck and keep us posted!
