I wouldn't be so sure of putting this one away in the win box yet. A stock B18c5 is 194hp to the crank. With the mods listed, that c5 is going to be damn near close to 185-200whp if its properly tuned and a tight running engine! If thats the case that is around the same amount of whp that a stock S2k is putting down, plus the weight advantage goes to the Del. Also if your not experienced with the launch of the S2 or shifting properly you might not want to post this topic again because the longer the race goes the uglier its going to get. Practice driving the S2 and get some mods on YOUR list. Also, get some lightened parts, CF hood, CF trunk, take out the spare, loose 100 lbs ! Good luck and keep us posted!
the b18c5 is 195 hp to the crank but no where near 185-200 whp stock...its more like 150-160 whp stock and with his mods like basic bolt ons he probabely pushing around 175-180 whp max if properly tuned...but ya it be close...he might have u off the line but u should pull in the highend...i not sure exactly how much the delsol weighs in at but i pretty damn sure its heavier than a civic hb or civic coupe...just like when i raced my buddy's b18c5 93 civic hatchback with i/h/e chip/vafc and he weighs in at 2400 lbs i was even with him 1st 2nd and 3rd but 4th and 5th i pulled about 2-3 cars all together til 200km or so...but i wasn't stock..i running i/h/e/testpipe/vafc and weighing in about 2675 lbs..like i said it depends on the driver i think..get some more mods and basic weight reduction u should be fine...or tell him i'll race him heehee

i just searched online for ya...its around 2520 lbs..due to the b18c5 a lil heavier engine he probabely weighing in just under 2600 lbs...unless he did some weight reduction then probabely weighing in around its stock weight...ya i think u better get some mods done b4 u race him u might be asking for trouble

I say dont worry too much about winning or losing and just race him.
I give 90% chance that you will win.
But again, is just a race!! Why wait till next year

A B18c1 engine which is in the GS-r is 170 crank hp. To the wheels anywhere between 154-158 whp. With I/H/E, a tight running B18c1 can make anywhere from 167-172 whp. In the B18c5, with the mods listed that this Del Sol owner posses depending on how tight the enigine is running and tuned he is definitly near the 185-200 whp mark. There is very little drivetrain loss with the B series engine. Also there are many people on the Civic Si boards with the B18c5 and B18c1 swap making those numbers consistantly, CLUBSI.COM. Check it out, this is not going to be that easy of a race, I too would bet the money on the S2, but its going to have to work for it!

those are quite high dyno #'s for the b18c1...i think u might be taking dyno pack #'s cuz here in van gsr only puts out barely 140-145 whp on a dynojet and my buddy's type r with i/h/e/vafc is putting out 180 whp max on a dyno jet...here s2000 dyno jet puts out 187-190 whp only...where u guys are from and i notice here most guys say they push 200-205 whp stock...all the cars here the #'s are corrected

Im not sure why the hp numbers are so off in Canada but I havent seen to many S2000's pushing 187-190 whp ! If you want continue researching the numbers that I have stated, they are right on! Heres another way to think about it: Stock B18c5=194 crank hp, Stock k20a=200 crank hp. The RSX-s motor makes 6 more crank hp then the Type R motor, depending on which I/H/E systems one would do for the K20a, they dyno at anywhere from 192 to 205 whp! CLUBRSX.COM, check it out and the only reason why I threw out those numbers is because the DC2 Integra responds to mods just as well if not better then the DC5 RSX-s. I dont want this to continue getting more and more off topic, all Im saying is that the race will be a great one and my money would still be placed on the S2, I just think that its going to have to work a little hard for the W!
