I've had enough of this crappy MBC.. I was headed home last night looking for fun (as always), when I roll up on a nicely modded GSR (lowered, exhaust, gauges, wheels, etc).. I think to myself "he probably won't even notice me" as most people don't. But to my glee I hear him rev match as soon as I get beside him. Yeah, it's finally time for a good honest race. He hits it, and I drop to third at about 70, and we're off.. Or so I thought. As soon as I dropped it down, I hit limp mode and went virtually no where.. Damn it!! The only way to get out of limp mode is to cycle the ignition, and I was on the highway. I had to let a good race go..

I'm calling Avalon Motorsports today for a GIAC chip. Bye bye crappy MBC..

 

Well, I called Avalon, and they'll be installing the GIAC v12 chip tomorrow after my morning job... 35hp+80ftlbs without limp mode will be a welcome change.. Now all I need is a 3" turboback, pulleys, samco hoses, and some race gas, and I should be in S2k territory...

 

What do the 1.8t GTI's run stock? How much hp? How much boost? Just currious. BTW, I work in Golden.

 

180hp/174lbft stock @ 9psi.. I'm going with a Sportec chip from Autosport Haus in Broomfield.. "Should" bump me to around 215hp/250tq @ 17psi.. Where in Golden do you work?? What do you do??

 

Sorry, most members don't mind when you post story's of "other" cars.. Guess there's always "that guy" who cares about crap like that..
