your diff will probably go long before your driveshaft/halfshafts.

I don't think you'll have any problems about losing a drive shaft. Think of the Drive shaft as an inline fuse on a wire circuit. It'll snap, however you'd have to pushing some major hp and running like drag slicks, launching the car without spinning tires, just as a fuse will blow when the current becomes too strong. I'd rather break a drive shaft than pay for a new rear housing/gears any day of the week.

Has anyone broken a S2000 drive shaft using an unmolested motor? I believe the S2000 has a couple of other expensive "fuses" that'll go first.

Sorry about that, i was still thinking in terms of straight axels, I just got into an s2000 not long ago, my previous ride was mach1 mustang, and a ford lightning. So yes, on those vehicles, especially if they're equipped with an aluminum drive shaft, they'll usually snap first. I've also seen this happen on the '03-'04 cobras, even with the irs still under the rear end.

Sorry, yea i would probably say the rear end housing might suffer some. Especially since i hear they're kind of weak on our cars

With proper launching, you should never have a problem. The key is to drop the clutch as fast as possible with the rpms near or above 6k to ensure the rear wheels momentarily break free. This redirects the force that would be absorbed by the diff by launching at a lower rpm and not freeing the rear tires.

YES I have!! Tell me about this B.S.! A few months after I installed my Exedy Clutch kit, I actually BROKE my driveshaft! I was grabbing 2nd gear in the middle of a run, and soon as I let go of the clutch hard I heard a squeal, followed by a loud ass bang! And right after the car wouldn't engage into any gear (obviously since I snapped the driveshaft, [which I didn't know at the moment though])...So I pull over and look under the car and see the front side of my driveshaft hanging! I was like WTF! Took it over to the shop only to find out It ripped off from right where the nuts bolt it down...But it wasn't like the nuts came loose though..It actually broke the shaft right before the plate for the nuts. Shit was crazy. And everyone at the shop was like WTF, they had never seen an S2000 break its driveshaft being nearly stock (bolt-ons). Anyone else ever have this done to them?

Ouch, sorry to hear. Must be a really grabby clutch or your bolt-ons really work! First I read about, but lots of busted pumpkin internals and such.
