Well... 0-60 for M3 I've seen 4.7 seconds. C5 I've seen 4.9. However both are 13 flat 1/4 miles. From personal experiance, my friends C5 beats my other friends SMG M3 but the 6-speed is faster so it should be a pretty even race.

The C5 is lighter and more powerful and should be faster but my experience has been that it is generally a drivers race. I think the C5's advantage will increase with triple digit speeds but I don't normally lose to stock C5's regardless of the speed.

Def a drivers race but the vette has the slight edge. Should be a good race if both people can drive.

Might come down to what tires are on the C5. The OEM run-craps don't hook enough at a dig.

Even when I had a few bolt-ons on my old '01 C5, it was a tight race against apparently a VERY well driven E46 M3. From about 60-115mph, I only got a car to a car and a half on him. I can row the gears with the best of them, but this car really knew how to extract every single hp out of the M3.

I'm wondering if it was modded too, even though mods are hard to come by with those cars...

I went dead even with a C5 six speed from 5-100. My 2004 M3 had the SMG, had mine chipped though.

What's the difference, vegas has beat them both with his magical 275 S2000 in drags.

Of course this is the same liar who claims he runs 14 flats at 103 with 2.5 60's at 2100 feet.

Anyone else catch the thread this week where a guy ran 14.6's at 99 with a 2.5 60 near sea level?
