Eclipse turbos
I had a chance to play with a seemingly unmodified 3000GT with multiple roll-ons. We'd both pull back from traffic and blast from maybe 25 to 60 MPH and then have to brake for traffic ahead and repeat four times. I was in the "correct" gear each time and I pulled a car length quickly, every time.
So once and for all...Will my stock S2K beat a VR-4 from a roll (of any speed)? (I realize it would be bad outcome from a light.) There's a guy I know who has a 1995 Lime-color vr4 with 18" chromes and exhaust with only like 35k miles
...anyways, back to my question???

I traded a fairly modded 99 Eclipse GS-T in on my S and let me tell you, my Eclipse would embarass the S in ANY type of straight line race. Dead stop, roll-on, highway roll-on, doesn't matter. They are very easy to mod. I would say with all of the mods to my Eclipse they probably totalled the cost of the Comptech S/C. My Eclipse dynoed about 350 hp to the wheels (FWD). I ran 12.8's at around 113-114 without slicks. On the highway, I would leave C5's in the dust at pretty much any speed.
if the VR-4 is the newer 94+ style with the 6 speed and the increased stock boost with 320hp, and the driver wasn't too terrible, then an S2000 will not beat a VR-4 assuming the VR-4 is on boost (not too tough, they have some mad torque at only 2500rpm) and the S2k was in VTEC. From 70+, the VR-4 should slowly walk away because of the 80hp advantage. But you have to realize, you won't find many stock VR-4s that have even decent drivers. Any VR-4 driver worth his snuff is going to at least have a boost controller, in which case the S2000 doesn't stand a chance.
