EVO 8 vs. RX7 TT
On my way home tonight I stopped by the local circuit to see what was going on. Actually lined up against a Ferrari 308 but he turned Pretty cool to see the Magnum car. A LS1 Z28 revved at me but then didn't follow suit. Then I see a red EVO 8 come up beside me and pace me. Too much traffic so he got in front of me and I signalled to turn onto a 4 lane road. We didn't catch a light (good for me) but I came up to about his rear quarter at 60 mph and he took off (turd!!!) he got the jump by about 1 car but then I ripped by him like he was standing still. I took it up to around 120 and I had around 6-7 cars and had to break HARD for some idiot driving like a grammy in the fast lane. Before anyone chimes in about how it's unsafe to streetrace, I agree and don't do it very often - but when you see a ball of light coming at you in your rearview and you're driving in the fast lane - get the hell over!
But I was not impressed with the EVO 8s mid range power. I know I'm making more power but I was just expecting more. I was even breaking up in my high rpms since I need an upgraded ignition running 15 psi. He wanted a little more on the onramp getting onto route 81 - too much traffic but I stayed glued to his bumper up to about 90 and then let him go - never did wave or give thumbs up to me - I honked, waved, and blinked my highbeams at him - nothing. Nice looking cars though.

Nah, take the EVO. I took a drive with a friend and was actually impressed with the little beast. I think that the reputation of the STOCK RX7 as being a quick car are way over blown (no pun intended). The S2K I know is faster than a stock RX7TT and I now know that the EVO is faster than the S2K...therefore the EVO will cream the old, ancient used car RX7's.

ok....but... you can see that he says his RX7 has 380Rear Wheel HP... that would be more than any S2000 or Evo has...... therefore I would expect him to smoke my Evo unless we went from a dead stop.
