i hate evo's picking on the S. Just the other day for absolutely no reason I provoked a hideous looking red one into racing me. I gave him such a huge jump he probably thought he was gonna win. Muhahaha.

if you have 4.77's, i/h/e and also went first against the Evo he shouldnt have pulled you back. either that or his car didnt have a stock turbo. but seeing as though he had a BOV and couldnt drive as you say, he probably didnt have any turbo upgrades. im guessing he was just a stock Evo with exhaust and a BOV. you should have at least held him off until your 3rd or 4th and he definitely should not have gone past you like you were in reverse.
the reason i say this is that a i/h/e/4.77'd s2000 should trap 106ish. an evo ix with just an exhaust should trap about 104-105. with you going first and getting a "perfect launch" he shouldnt have pulled you back or at least not as hard as he did. i race my friend's evo ix mr and he can BARELY pull me and he has a 20G turbo and i dont have gears.
are you sure you shift fast enough to take full advatage of those gears?

my former IX with 3 bolt-ons and a flash can trap 110mph+ easily on 91 oct.
your friend with the 20g turbo screwed something up for sure.
just trying to keep things real here, nothing personal
the OP wins at life for out-launching an Evo on the streets!!!

i'm sorry, but a stock turbo Evo 9 WHEN DONE RIGHT is more than capable of trapping 106mph.

Blown S2000's trap in that area and some of us own other cars that trap well above that.....

Not a fanboy but I know my stuff... Stock IX's trap around 104-105 ,and ,or course, more with an exhaust. I'm sorry he gave you a thumbs down but please don't think we're all pricks. Every crowd has their share of dolts. Bov's do not make evos run worse. If they VTA then it will. Evo 8 bovs NEED an upgrade because majority of them like to leak beyond 6 psi. One more thing...I hope the automotive world will stop saying I raced an evo MR edition because it's irrelevant. All MRs' produce the same power as the other models. From 2005, the 16G's all came with upgraded 10.5 hotsides. In 2006, IX's came out with a larger compressor housing with the same 10.5 hotside. Hope that clears up all the "I raced an MR editon".

UPDATE: the guy talked to my cousin today and told him that i'm the first S2000 that gave him a good run (he must not have raced many S2000s) and that my car sounded amazing. said it was one of the few cars that is loud as sh*t but actually moves as fast as it sounds lol.

It's still a Mitsubishi.....
I thought the S and evo ran about the same at the track, like right about 14.0
And like the Doc from Skunk2 said, drag racing is 80% car 20% driver. I think this encounter proved it from the way he was shifting.
