Have you guys ever raced other S2K's (people that you don't know)? When I see ITR's the drivers usually give me a thumbs up. As for Mustang GT's and Boxsters (Boxster S's too), I haven't had any luck finding one willing to race - hopefully I'll find one soon. The LS1's would be very difficult to beat (I know because I had a Z28) in straight line racing, although I'd have more of a chance on the freeway.

yeah, i gotta admit it to some degree. most owners piss me off. the last one i raced on the highway and was also the most annoying by FAR (not an S version too). he had his top down with a passenger and i was alone with top down (i was in the lane to his right). he pulls up aggressively next to me, i was going about 60mph just chillun and enjoying the day. he leans forward to look around his gf (she was BIG, so i guess he had to lean to look past her "many bulges"...oh, the dude was pretty FAT too....looked very strange seeing two ppl so HUGE in that car...somewhat funny too) and gives me the "what a sh*tty car" look. his gf (?) looks at my car, makes a face, looks at the guy, the guy looks at me then back to her and blatantly shakes his head. both then started to laugh, turned back to me and again, gave me the "your car is a piece of sh*t" look. man, i was fuming but i just smiled back at them the whole time. he then downshifted and stayed next to me. i heard his car revving, especially since we were at around 60 mph still. they both looked at me with this amused look, i guess waiting for me to shrink away. i downshifted (3rd) too shortly after and gave them a smile. i then took my hand out and made the motion "please lead the way, i'll follow"....he took off! when he got about two carlengths ahead, i hit it. btw, his gf was turned around in her seat (please don't ask me how, she was a very large girl) when he took off. i guess she wanted to see the look on my face as he "pulled away" from me. well, i overtook him pretty quickly and as i was passing them (the girl looked shocked, simply put and the dude seemed really mad), i gave them a nice smile and waved. i didn't stop for a while either, b/c i wanted them to see me get smaller and smaller. when i slowed down eventually, he would NOT come anywhere near me. i went to the rightmost lane b/c my exit was coming up and stayed back still. when i got off my exit (it is a long stretch that runs parallel to the highway for about a 1/4 mile), he floored it and was coming past me. b/c i'm such a nice guy, i looked over with a nice smile and wave again! they didn't look happy. i'm sure they went to the local buffet to wallow in their sorrows!

ps. i'm sure boxster owners are not all like this. i've met a few nice ones. it's just that most of the ones i've encountered were pricks, so far. i like the boxster and thought at one point of getting one for either me or my gf to drive. please no flames.

nHobbes,

It must be the gearing of the S2K that allows us to have fun in the 70-110 range. My favorite competition is usually a Saleen/Roush Mustang at this same speed range. They seem to be geared to do well from 0-80, but not as well from 80-120.

I have surprised more than one Mustang on the freeway that I am sure could have killed me in a stop light to stop light race.

3rd gear is definitely the ideal gear when racing on the highway! i normally do NOT act like this, but this particular person was obnoxiously attempting to "show me up", so i couldn't help but rub it in a little! i'm just glad i don't have to be like that all the time....i like FRIENDLY races, where both members smile and give a , regardless of outcome!

LOL. Nice kill! Where do you guys live damnit? I want to meet these @sshole Boxster owners!

KidK, I've never thought of messing with Saleens, especially not S351's. I'm not too sure about the numbers of an S281, but I know they're quick too. We're talking about the current generation of Saleen Mustangs right? Are these Saleens based on GT's or Cobras?

And yeah, there are a lot of @sshole LS1 owners. One guy was staring me down today as I drove past him (in the opposite direction). Makes me want to get my previous car and blow them away.

i never understood how a car makes a person so arrogant or stupid (snobby, giving stare downs, etc). it's only a car...sheesh. some ppl just don't get it.

anyways, as long as they're around, might as well have fun with them if we can! hahahah

ps. fun multiplies with SC or Turbo! haha

honestly guys... what kinda ls1's do tear up? btw is it just me or do a lot of old people drive ws6's... believe me this is not a flame.. i LOVE the ws6 with a passion.. and was going to get one.. but i found my vette so i didnt.. but all weeek ive been seeing 60+ year olds in ws6's and its freakin me out... next time im gonna rev one of em... GO GRANNY GO!!

oh and i love racing supras like glen said.. however im no way near as fast.. you just wait till i get my 150 shot of honey... itll be sweet... have yet to tear down or even meet a single turbo supra.. i guess its just cuz i just recently got my car.... give it time.... i love racing anything thats cocky enough to rev on me... i never rev on anybody when im just driving down the street... because i usually go to the organized races... however if someone challenges me especially in a z28 or ss or something.... i guess i still have the old ford aggression towards those guys...
