You have a downpipe on your M3? I thought it was just headers to the cat, and then the catback.
My friend's EVO has intake, catless DP, catback, HKS cams, ARC intercooler, ecu reflash, and boost set at 22psi. That thing pulls like crazy on the highway.
I'm pretty sure a stock M3 will pull a stock EVO all day from a roll, but the thing with an EVO is that you probably will never see a stock one. I'm sure the guy that you beat is probably ordering a turboback and a reflash right now after you handed him his ass.

I just looked at that M3 performance site. Holy!! How much it costs to upgrade a few ponies!!

Nice Kill.
I raced a fully modded EVO in my Cobra. I'd say form 50-80 he put 3-4 car lengths on me...and I was in my powerband in 2nd gear. Granted I had a 250lb passenger but still his car pulled. That particular EVO ran 11.6. That same night I also ran an EVO with jsut a BOV and intake (that's all he told me he had). I ran him form several different speeds and basically I slowly pulled from him at any speed. If I didn't have my "big" passenger I think I would have walked him pretty good.

Moral of the EVO story..watch our for the modded ones. The only apparent difference between the 11 sec EVO and the one I beat was the color.

As for making any comparison between an EVO and M3. I've raced 3 E46 M3's ( 1 hardtop, 2 conv.) and I have to say that the EVO w/ the intake and BOV was just as fast as the hardtop M3 (it was stock) that I raced.

Have fun modding the M3 and please post any hp numbers or track times you get. I'm curious to see hoew the E46 responds to bolt ons.

Thanks for all the reply's.

I can tell my M wants to release more power, like any car does. I would've had a sh!t load of mods already but I had to repair my s2000. Yep parts are expensive, but what can I expect.

Nevertoofast - you're right it's either header or down pipe. I'll update with pics and all. The local BMW dealer has a dyno so I'll be analytical as hell as far as horsepower output being that everything is so damn expensive.

Nice runs Snake... I saw a pretty fast Cobra the other day, again he was going the other direction and it looked and sounded like he could've handed me my own ass.

Your M3 must not be that fast either, if you only pulled 3 cars away. 3 cars isn't that much to be considerably faster.

haha... Yup, stomped him 45-50 dump into 2nd. . . pulled a car instantly and 2 more by 100 . . . 3 cars to be conservative by 110, but could've kept pulling and pulling.
