Default First encounters post...

Okay, so... I'm going to start this off with a picture of the intersection, so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about. Me and the SSR are at the front of the line at a red light at a major intersection. About 50yds(?) up the road across the intersection, the right lane (my lane) merges down. I typically stay in the right lane at this intersection since normally there's no competition in the left lane and I can get ahead of the 10 cars sitting there. I had honestly no clue the potential of these cars. Picture:

However. I do know that my apartment complex is less than a mile down the road on the right (farther up than the drawing goes), and on the left (about halfway btwn intersection and my apartment) is a parking lot where cops love to sit and catch speeders.

So, the encounter goes as follows.

I pull up to the line, look over at his car and eye it like "never seen these up close... I wonder...." He revs at me... a pretty decent sounding exhaust/engine. I wave, and hold rpm at 3k. The light goes green and I let off. Slow. He takes off at full speed and gets up to probably 65ish by the end of the merge. I never go faster than 35, merge quietly ahead of the person behind the SSR and low and behold.... local cop sitting in the parking lot. I cruise up to the intersection at my apartment complex and the light is red. The asshole YELLS out of his car "YOU HAVE NO TORQUE!" not realizing that a cop car is a quarter mile away from pulling him over. I look over at him and say "You know you just got played, right?" pointed behind us, and turned into my lot. Cop hits his lights as the light turns green and pulls him over in the next lot down the road.

Classic example of asshattery on the roads these days.

After looking up the specs on the car, I honestly have no clue how a stock s2k would fare in the 1/4, but I think I read mid 15sec for the SSR.

Fun times. Moral of the story: don't mess with people who know where cops like to pull people over.

Nice. Gotta love the Douche nozzles getting what they deserve.

Even with the LS2 vette motor, Car and Driver had their quarter mile in the SSR at 14.1

There are so many times I see some moron driving like an idiot and I think to myself "how great would it be to see that idiot get pulled over right now". I bet you that guy in the SSR felt stupid after that.
