Stock Evo chassis/suspension has a lot of body roll which scares inexpirienced drivers.
the EVO's AWD also scares inexpirienced drivers.

I'm really sorry to hear that... I wouldn't have pushed it with any other cars (besides the evo) around. I just don't get how someone died there... you can drive 15+ over the posted limit before it starts to get hairy.

All of the 57-91 and 91-57 ramps are WAY off on the posted limits. I suppose its for safety, but its god awful in traffic when people actually slow to 40 for them.
She was on her phone or somthing, but started fishtailing and flew off the ramp ! She died, but the baby survived. You can clearly see the tire marks still. real scary if you know how high the ramp is. When my tires still had meat left, i touched 85mph a few times.

sometimes bad luck is taking toll. oil, sand, water can be present on the blind side when you're taking that fast curve and there you go. it was actually happened more than twice for some of my friends and the result is cars totaled but it can be worse.

good luck and good kill.

in my younger days i used to take on-ramps crazy fast too, but now i know better...spinning out at high speed is seriously not fun at all.

What are you babbling about? Its a full time job straightening out the misconceptions of s2k owners on the Evo

The MR has the same HP as any evo of the same year. The evo IX has more hp that the Evo VIII, but there is no difference between the MR and other Evo's.

Here's the differences between the MR and other evo's.

Aluminum roof
6 speed
blistein suspension
wheels
Idiotic gauge pack
headlamps
bumper

That should be about it. On the IX SE's you get everything except the 6 speed and blistein's.

At one point that either wasn't the case, or a couple of car mags got their info on the MR wrong when first released. I clearly remember reading the MR made more power when it first hit the market. Of course, thats not to say the statement was accurate.

I don't know much about Evos other than the fact I want one for my daily driver.

The mags were wrong.

In 04 the RS was released with a front LSD, that was different than other models because they didn't have it.

In 05, all models got the lsd and a 10.5 hotside. The MR was released, with the stuff I listed in other thread but also had a metal diverter valve vs the others having a plastic one. (less prone to leaks)

In 06 all models got the metal diverter valve, 10.5 hotside, and mivec.

That's pretty much the performance enhancements. Some mags were claiming in 2005 that base evo's had 276 hp and the mr's had 281 or something like that, but it wasn't true... They had the same engine with the same turbo and ecu.

Do all Evo owners HAVE to use that line everytime they hear about a loss? I swear, whenever someone posts an Evo kill, some owner has to play the "we get better gains" card.

From now on, whenever I hear about a S2000 losing to an Evo, I'm just going to use "Yeah, its only cause they were turbo. Let them try a boosted S next time"
