Default First VR6 kill

Well it finally happened so I can live up to my vanity plate: VR WHAT I was cruising along on the highway this morning on my way to work, when I see a yellow VW coming up. I didn't want any negative attention, so I just kept on looking forward until I heard him romp on the throttle. So I looked over at him and knew it was on. So I began downshifting until I got to third. Which he waited for me to do (pretty cool of him). Needless to say, I pulled about 3-4 car lengths on him in about 4-5 seconds. After slowing down, allowing him to catch up, he got to my door and gave me a thumbs up. As did I. Nice guy. Glad he didn't do the losing fly-by.

Congrats on beating a 180 HP/ 15.5 second car. Nice and difficult.

Why the hostility and sarcasm bro? You own one? I didn't flame or anything like that on him. He provoked me, he wanted it. I even commented on how he was a nice guy. What's your problem?

Didn't mean to sound hostile.. I just found your vanity plate humorous as the S2000 is a faster (better car) and is kind of in a different league..That's all.

I had the vanity plate transfered over from when I owned a 00' Si. I was tired of getting thumbs down, revved on, and other forms of un-revoked atention from VW drivers. I still don't hate on them. No need to.

I understand you do not hate VW. I do not hate Honda either, in fact I love the S2000. Just wanted to offer some insight, especially dealing with the possibility of running into modified VWs.

You might be in trouble even with a VW that does not have a VR series engine. A mkIV platform GTI with a bolt on APR stage 3 upgrade to the 1.8T engine results in 290hp/296lb-ft for $4000.

Modified VR6 cars, such as a GTI, would definitely offer a race, if not a stomping.

You better hope the guy with the 900hp Dahlback twin turbo vr6 doesn't see that plate.

The new VR6's in the Jettas have 200 hp. I have seen a VF SC for them that claims 280 hp. That should a very good match for the S2000. But after all is said and done you could put a SC in the S2000 too.

Yup, sorry but a kill vs. an F-150 would have been more exciting.

Lets give him a break guys!!! Nice kill, but like some of these guys said, watch out for those really fast 1.8ts with bigger turbos...I have had the pleasure of running some of them in my 944 turbo and they are fast!
