I had originally posted a month ago about getting a speeding ticket the first week I bought my S2K for going with the flow of traffic on the highway. I paid a lawyer 250 and today he got it reduced to a non-moving violation which has no affect on insurance. A 4 point ticket would be a 90% hike in insurance in NC. I highly recommend a lawyer if you get a speeding ticket. If you live in NC and need a recommendation then send me an email and I will pass on the info of a good lawyer.

I didn't know you can get a ticket change to non-moving from speeding. How did they do that? Can that be done in any state?

From my experience in fighting tickets in court, I've noticed that many a defending lawyer are "in bed" with the prosecuting city attorney.....they both hammer out a "deal" before court goes into session, and when the prosecutor sees the case that has been "dealt" with, he/she recommends another fine/penalty.

The judge usually doesn't really care, as long as the city and the court get their money, and agrees to the new penalty.

There you go, moving violation turned into a non-moving violation.

How fast were you going? So a moving violation is a 4 point ticket? That is strict.

Dean, so why was this a 4 point ticket instead of 1? It's not even reckless driving.
