Are you kidding? Posting timeslips in this thread would be like "an octopus in a garage" (Expression from Spain which means "very out of place")!!
nah, jk. go for it, buddy. let's see what the deal is
hey, if i can post about Spanish colloquialisms, there's no reason why you can't put up your slips!

just cause it was street encounters so i thought maybe he would shoo me off to the drag section. i just wanted to get his opinion since he seemed very knowledgeable and i think very fair and straight up with what he thinks happened or if he thinks whatever is ****ed up. he hasnt responded yet but i guess ill post this up anyways.

first i will post up the s2k encounter. i just happened to notice this s2k in my heads up class at the englishtown raceway import survival series so i went over to say wuts up. nice guy, told me it was his first time out at the drag strip with the S and that he was hoping to crack into 13s. i was like oh nice gl, how long have you been driving your car. he responds, i bought it on monday. i was like ummm... well gl. (honestly i was like this is gonna be ugly....) btw the car was used so it already had 30k miles on it. so anyways he runs out there like a champ and bangs out a 14.0 and i was pretty impressed except his trap was mid 90's.... kinda weird. well anyways he is the slip of him racing me in eliminations.

me s2k
r/t .513 .700
60 2.226 2.125
330 5.984 5.812
1/8 9.049 8.944
mph 80.13 79.25
1000 11.681 11.632
1/4 13.892 13.923
mph 101.71 96.42

as you can see it was a close race and i have no idea why or what he was doing for his trap speed to be so low. anyways u guys figure it out cause my mind boggling slips are pissing me off more than this run.

alrite here are 2 runs that i ran the same day something just isnt making sense.

first next
60 2.289 2.030
330 6.001 5.759
660 9.066 8.859
mph 80.23 79.12
1000 11.695 11.524
et 13.905 13.760
mph 101.82 101.07

what is making any sense to me... is that i dropped around .25 off of my 60ft yet i only dropped .14 ish in the quarter mile.... from what i have heard you supposed to drop about .2 ish from your ET for every .1 dropped in your 60ft. i was expecting atleast to drop around .25 but i didnt. doesnt seem to make any sense from what ive read about drag racing and would like to know WTH was going on. was my car heat soaked...? i mean i didnt misshift and perfect shifts at redline. if anything I actually tapped redline from the 1-2 shift in the first run. there was like atleast and hour or so between the 13.76 run and any other run that i had. i will say im very proud that i was able to cut the 2.03 with my 19inchs on ^_^. well thx for any input and harshness if i missed something. thx guys.

The S2000 owner let off through the traps. Trap speed is averaged out after the 1320' is completed.

What year S2000? What's done to the Z?

Your time slips make perfect sense, and it's ridiculous to disect them so much. Just because someone said ".25!", doesn't actually mean anything. The amount dropped will vary from car to car.

not really.... it seems my car slowed down... if i went down the strip .25 seconds faster but et was only .1x faster i think it means my car slowed down somewhere...

oh and the s2k was stock and i had intake exhaust, rims, coilovers blah blah. im like dropped 2 inches plus the rims are 19 with some retarded camber so im only getting 1/2 of the contact patch and they are 19'z and the rotational mass or wutever isnt exactly in my favor. also coilovers are only gonna hurt me since its means i have a harder suspension, less squat or wutever

well, honestly unless your fixated on all the numbers, who really cares. its not likely that youll ever have two timeslips that are the same. depending on the million variables, you could have a tad better roll out on one run, and a tad slower the next run. so your 60ft wont always determine the rest of your 1/4. also from one run to the next, you may be a tad off in RPM on one shift or another, this will change your top end charge, and skew your 1000 and 1320 times and mph.
remember, he could be low on power, but sweet launch and first 3 gears, this is gonna give him killer ET , yet low mph. (i speak of your opponent who has so puzzled you) also you never know if his s2k has gears, and what gears. so he could have picked up great short course, yet has to shift just before the 1320, and there goes his mph. there are so many variables, thats why myself, and many others just like to race on the street. once your good launching your car, and knowing where it shines, then all that matters is who won, not all the political numbers. which unless your running for money, means jack squat.
anyways, have a good day, and keep on racing, it furthers our sport. dave

there. now that that's cleaned up.....

first, it looks like the S2k let up too early in the traps. beyond that i'm not sure why he'd trap so low.

second, your timeslips look completely normal to me. what it looks like is that your car was suffering a little on the top end for whatever reason. you drive an auto and the tranny may or may not shift precisely the same every time. if you're using a manual/auto shift feature of some kind, that variable alone can account for it.

beyond that, there's so many other variables in here, that you're looking for something that probably isn't there. i would say not to worry about it, and continue running as you have been running. your timeslips look pretty good to me.
