Default Hheellpp!!!

Ok, so here is my problem... Last night I was challenged to race, so we went to a street that was free of other people. WHen we got there, they offfered to time us(a bunch of people already there racing). So, we go, and in my rear window, I see the red and blue lights a flashing! So, I think, oh crap! So, I get a ticket for contest of speed, which, for me being a minor, is not a good thing. What do I expect to come out of this? Also, opn the ticket, they have some information wrong(i.e. my age). Is there any way to use this to get out of the ticket? And, can I contest the ticket in writing, since it's gonna be nearly impossible for me to make the court hearing? THanks, all of your help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and if you care, I have a 93 Del Sol Si, and the race was against a 2001 Civic. I won...

If ANYTHING is wrong with the ticket, especially age, you should have no problem getting out of the ticket. Errors on a ticket show imcompetence by the officer, especially since your age is clearly shown on the drivers liscence, which is where they get their info from. Mistakes with things as simple and obvious as age could prove that a police officer made a mistake in pulling you over.

but at worst you will get a fine, maybe suspended driving sentence. Get a lawer and make him tell the judge that there is no way a Del sol could be involved in such a 'contest' because Del Sol and speed couldn't possibly go together . I mean speed? Del sol? Thats reasonable doubt right there!

How should I go about addressing the issue of the age error on the ticket? And, is a laywer really worth it for somehting like this? Thanks, I really appreciate everyone's help.

Just contact the clerk of the court and address the Error on the ticket, I think that's who you contact. But anyways, man you got lucky with the error.

Deffinitely get a lawyer. The traffic lawyers are only like 45-50 bucks from what I remember and he/she may be able to get you out of paying a shit load more.

Ok, I have to be the luckiest S.O.B. alive... After further examination of the ticket, it states that I was driving a 2000 Honda Del Sol... Not only do I not own a 2000 honda Del sol, the 2000 Honda Del Sol does not exist... They stopped making them in 1997. :-D :-D :-D :-D I'm very very very happy right now. Already contaced a lwayer, just waiting to hear back, but from the sounds of things from his side, it sounds promising. Thanks for your help, however, I still need more. I need to know what to do now, so please HHEELLPP!!!

I'd say you are in the clear. Just let the lawyer do the talking for you.
