Met a lot of truck (ford/gm/dodge) drivers that do similiar things. I think they are mostly high school guys that like to be assholes (atleast in my area they are). I usually just ignore them....most of the time....lol

MB doesn't offer an AMG version of the ML. (at least 06) You mighted haved raced a "riced" MB ML....my guess it was a 6 cylinder.

This is the best ML they offer (06):

ML500 SUV
5.0L 24-valve V-8 engine
302 hp @ 5,600 rpm
339 lb-ft @ 2,700 - 4,750 rpm

They don't offer AMG rims as a factory option either. So if you saw AMG on the rims...they were aftermarket.

Now...if it was the 220 hp 03-05 6 cylinder...then you would BLOW it's doors off. If it was the 8 cylinder then it would have been a damn close race.

Either way nice win...

BTW this is the only AMG SUV MB makes:

G55 AMG Grand Edition
AMG-built 5.5L supercharged 24-valve V-8 engine
469 hp @ 6,100rpm
516 lb-ft @ 2,650-4500 rpm
0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds

MSRP: $102,175*

Dude... the key here is::: READING COMPREHENSION. Nowhere in his post did he say it was a '06.

Having said that, they're coming out with a ML63 AMG. A real monster. You're also off on all of your assumptions & numbers.

Yup - this was not an '06. . . this was one of the older body types (of which there was an AMG run). I will also qualify that it was at night, and the SUV was black. I just stepped on the gas and left Turd recon to my passenger (and my rear views).

Well your right. The 03 had 215 hp. The rest is off the MB web site so take up the "assumptions and numbers" with them.

BTW...I owned and 03... so don't tell me what it can and can't do compared to the S2000. It was also a piece of shit that had nothing but problems....mostly electrical.

Also for reference I own a 06 E350 4-Matic and it would give my 02 S2000 a run for it's money if I wasn't right on it....jm2c

The 5.5 seconds on the G55 AMG is off. Mercedes underrates their cars, always.

He did race a ML55AMG, just not an '06, again.

The non SC-ed V8 will not keep up with an S2000 either. I know, I have one.

Again, what he "raced" is a ML55AMG.

We can discuss this intelligently or you can continue to make smart remarks and I will play else where. I would like to continue the discussion so help me out.

I would agree with the ML55AMG. I would also say that there are more of these with AMG rims and AMG badges than there are REAL AMG's running around. An ML55AMG "should" beat an S2000 though.

I would not agree with the "non" sc-d v8 anything 05-06 Mercedes not keeping up with the S2000. While the S2000, perfectly driven, is slightly faster to 100 after 100 the S2000 won't keep up.

Hell new E350's will beat the S2000 with an average driver. The new C350 will damn near beat it with a good driver. This motor is strong, if you haven't driven the C350 7-speed, go drive it and tell me what you think. (although I am not a fan of the C-Class interior).

Which V8 Mercedes do you own?

Shawn

The ML55 AMG was offered only in the '00 -'03 model years with the naturally-aspirated 5.5L V-8:

The 2003 ML55 AMG

MSRP $66,620

Engine 5,439-cc SOHC 24-valve 90

I have the ML430.

As to this:
"I would not agree with the "non" sc-d v8 anything 05-06 Mercedes not keeping up with the S2000. While the S2000, perfectly driven, is slightly faster to 100 after 100 the S2000 won't keep up. "

You're talking about an suv thats 4,500 pounds. With it's 306 hp, it cannot beat an S2000. At any speed. Even the lighter S500 with the same engine has no chance. Now add some FI to it, it becomes a monster. I'm eagerly awaiting the ML63 AMG. It's supposedly going to be the fastest SUV on the market dipping into the 4's.

Yes, the SUV, but the other V8's in the E Class will give and S2000 a run for it's money. So will the CLK and SLK v8's

The New C350 Sport would beat most S2000 drivers. I test drove one a 3 weeks ago and I was really impress with the power delivery.

The ML63 AMG is interesting, but It's and SUV and I not a fan (my wife was until the E350 4-Matic)

My S2000 is done in April and the E55 is my next choice unless they crame the new v8 into the C Class and then I might get over the interior.
