Default How to get out of a "racing ticket".....

No I am not giving you the answer...I NEED the answer..

Last night I got my first racing ticket...I won though, but I still got a ticket. The cop came out of nowhere

I would like to know if anyone here has fought and won one. Yes I know, yari yara, you play you pay but, come on, if you could get out of one you probably would try also. Nothing else was written on the ticket....the other guy got exhibition of speed, speeding, endanger, blah blah....plus he had no license and/or registration.

Oh yes, 02 WRX with all sorts of mods against a pretty much bone stock STi....good damn race....he got me out of the hole by about 1/2 a car....At 120 I was only 1/4 - 1/2 a car ahead.. ....

That sucks. I was caught once and the cop was a complete prick and made me get out of the car and tried to scare me by talking about a night in jail. He ended up giving me a reckless driving citation and I just paid it. I knew if I went to court it would make things worse one the judge heard I was drag racing.

What did he cite you with? There is a book out on how to beat tickets. I would do a few searches on Google and it will pop up. Good Luck...

Yikes! At least you won. We need a rematch next weekend, hopefully all of my stuff will be on. Another highway run?

I had one a few years back. I got a lawyer and had him take care of it for me. Wasn't cheap though, he ended up getting it down to an illegal parking ticket. I paid a total of 800 bucks. Good luck...oh yeah, nice run.

From "Street racing" to "Illegal parking"? How does that work? Sounds a bit shady.

I have no idea how expensive this would be...I think if I go to court...how would he prove I was actually "racing" for say? There is always a 50/50 chance he might not show up...right? Wouldn't fighting it just delay things....damn, I hate tickets...this is the 2nd one this week...crap!

Go get a lawyer. It would be very hard to get out of that ticket w/o a lawyer, especially if you have any prior tickets for moving violations?

Did the cop say if he got you on radar or paced you or anything? Did he say where he saw you and at what point in the race he saw you? Did you admit you were racing to him or did the other driver? Go read the state statute for racing and see exactly what it says. From what you posted the fact that you had a definate starting point and the cop ticketed both of you will not work in your favor.....but a good lawyer should be able to get you a smaller violation.
