Default This just in hatches are slow

Even with bolt ons or im talking straight up swaps.

I dont give this car enough credit I think of it being super slow as civic si and prelude slow.

Well today I ran 2 b18 hatches beat them by a full car each.

Ran a turbo integra running 7psi with front mount had him till about 75 mph and at 110 he had a half car on me.

Here is the story better written

Well today was a lovely day. Hung out with some Honda owning folks. Ran a turbo Integra first. Got a perfect launch on him almost no wheel spin. Pulled ahead of him till about 75 mph then he caught up. He flew by me and had a half car on me around 110.

Then came the hatches. I launched poorly on both of them ended up going sidways almost but I still was in front of right next to them. Around 60 MPH though I started pulling further and further ahead.

I mean I was just expecting more out of these cars.

*turbo integra I can understand lag, poor tuning, and well hes only running 7 psi because he says his piping is shitty and cant handle more boost.

nice runs!
B18n + turbo (well tunned, even with 7psi) = monster!
i have friend (he still has that car!) who has EG hatch with b18 turbo!
making around 580hp at the wheel of course he's boosting higher than 7 psi. 11.4 1/4 miles in LACR!! 13?+mph. i think he could do high or mid 10sec
civics are scarely!

You simply haven't run into a well prepared hatch....they have monstrous straight line potential. Enough said.

by the same token, old Chrysler minivans are fast, and they don't even need a motor swap :/ Just because some people dump way too much on a little crappy Civic doesn't make Civics "scarely," if by "scarely" you mean scary. If you meant "scarcely" fast, I apologize. I can count on one finger the number of fast Civics I've seen, and yet would need a calculator to tally the number I hear people gush about. The fastest Civic I've ever seen at a drag strip was running mid-15's. The only fast one wasn't at a strip, and I don't think it runs any better than high 13's on a swap, FI, and N2O. Hundred bucks says its broke by now.

Nice Runs.. However, I don't think Hatch's are that slow at all. I have mad respect for all Hatch's. Here in San Diego, they come a dime a dozen.. Hatches with a d15Y, D16, ZC SOHC, ZC DOHC, B16A/B, B17, B18C1/5, H22A, H23, K20A, K20R LS/VTECS (B16 heads to GSR Heads)all the way to a B22B VTEC. Not even including turbo / N20 ones.
I know of atleast 10+ Hatchs that can smoke my ass. Most of them that run here are gutted too. Kinda crazy..
Ive run into a few, luckily havent lost yet.. I ran in to a B16A and a B18C5. It's like half and half, some are half-assed done, and half are monsters..
It's like with s2k owners/drivers, some can drive, and some can't, doesn't mean the car is slow..

Good Kill Though!

I betcha I would've give you a run for your money in my Sol.
B18c-r
Spoon rods and Spoon oversized pistons
Spoon headgasket
Skunk2 Stage 2 cams and valvetrain
Jet Hot coated Toda header
Blah,blah,blah

It was a very fast car. A properly built and tuned type r swapped EG can make for an interesting race.

Yeah Cuz its fully built. Look at the way I ran the turbo integra though. I only lost to him by 1/2 or a 1/4 of a car I jumped far ahead of him.
