Default kill: eclipse - unknown year and mods

After leaving the Import show at George Mason University this weekend, some fool in an Eclipse tried to step.

I dropped it at about 7000RPM and feathered off the gas lightly only spinning for about 1/4 second and launch was great. I constantly pulled on him, as he had nothing for me.

Stock color, larger wheels, and I could here is turbo whining. I was several car lengths by the time he turned off, and was at about 100MPH.

No clue on mods or year. It was the GSX I believe... AWD and Turbo.

Wow! AWD and Turbo and you beat him off the line. I thought those things were pretty fast. I suppose at speed it would be easier. Good kill anyway.

No, AWD DSMs (Talon/Eclipse/Laser) do not weigh 4,000 lbs. Unless the driver weighs 600 chowin' on a fistful of Twinkies. They go closer to about 3,400 lbs. with an average weight driver.

There are many, many upgrades available for both generations of the DSM, and it is quite rare to find an AWD that is running stock. Free mods alone make a tremendous difference in the car's performance, and to be honest -- they can get downright mean.

I'm not here to start a fight, or pick on anyone, but I figured I'd clear that up for you guys. The S2K is a nice car. I personally wouldn't buy a Honda, but it's a matter of personal preference. Our cars are night and day different (my GTP vs. S2K)... I'd wager, however, that I could give you guys quite a run.

My car is probably closer to 3700 lbs., but has a lot of torque to spare, and a respectable amount of horsepower once moving. And that's stock -- I'm not stock.

Anyway, great site you guys have here.
