Killed a Mustang...
I'm seeing a lot of sour grapes here ... there are ALWAYS faster cars out there that do SOMETHING better and quicker than your car can and, sometimes it can be done more easily and less expensively than the S2000 can.
Look, you made an informed decision about your car. No point in trying to bring down every other car to prevent buyer's remorse from settling in. Every car is a compromise, so just stick with it and be happy.
I drove a supercharged '96 Cobra (in stunning Mystic, no less) a few times. There was an unbelievable amount of torque and it just pulls like there's no tomorrow. It was loud and handled quite well out on the city roads (I don't think it would do well in an autox). I could use the car and outpower any other car to squeeze into any potential opening in traffic anywhere. No wonder such power is so addictive. However, it was totally clear to me that I had little idea what the car's attitude was at any given time. Driver feedback through the steering wheel was minimal -- the driver has little input from the road. This isn't to say that jerking the wheel makes the car's turn slow or sloppy ... just that the driver has difficulty in making adjustments properly.
Quoting quarter miles for imports or domestics don't do anything ... there's more to a car than that. A Cobra is an impressive car that makes driving around in the city and pulling onto on-ramps a delight ... there's just something about unleashing that glorious sound (through side-exhuast Borlas, btw). It's not a Sunday driver and makes no apologies for it. It also has a very heavy clutch and working that thing in bumper-to-bumper can leave you walking in circles for the rest of your life.
There's ALWAYS more to a car than figures and stereotypes. PLEASE drive cars with an open mind before you start putting them down.
However, riceboys (raceboys being more PC?) come in all flavors, and the driver referenced in the original post reflects that. So bash the driver, not the car!

I personally hate Mustangs.
They are what you call "cheap horse power"
My friend had 2001 Mustang GT, and he had nothing but
problems (Interior was falling apart)
He thought he was driving a BAD ASS car, but he was so
afraid to see Camaro SSs or Pontiac WS6s pass by
I wonder why?

Cheap horsepower?????? My cobra was ~35k...I find that hard to believe that is cheap HP....also considering when I was looking for a fast vert I looked at the s2k's and they wanted over 42k for the car which included a huge markup over MSRP........I wish you would define cheap horsepower???? Sounds like you are wanting to create a pissing contest to me
Vert - let me start off by saying my mom has a mustang vert. But the fact of the matter is there is a large difference between inexpensive and 'cheap'. For instance, I think the price of the cars is not the issue. I think the parts Ford uses are cheap - meaning not well made. Just like the interior of the s2000 is cheap (some would say minimalist). But we both did not buy the cars for these reasons - we bought them so we could haul A$$!
Cars are cars - what's the big deal? I get so tired of everyone trying to defend why they bought a certain car. Can you imagine if women were to act the same way about clothes and makeup?

On the way home today i came up on the back of a last generation 4.6L GT, we cruised up to about 90 and then he threw down and waved bye to me, so i put it 4th and as i ran 4th out and put into 5th i began to pass him a pretty good rate so i decided to wave bye to him. I don't what he was thinking. I not sure what mods it had but it seemed to be a little faster than most of the GT's i race and it also seem a lot louder.
