Taking a nice afternoon ride around my favorite twisties north of town. Note a purple Eclipse w/Alteezas, Side molding, Blacked out windows, gunmetal wheels and fart pipe ahead. When I got along side she(yes! 20 ish quite petite!) purged her NOS in apparent admiration of my sweet sinister-looking Berlina S2k.

Stopped behind her in left hand lane at stop light. Heard another purge of NOS." Try to follow me?" I vaguely remember the two chicks in the Blk Porsche in the movie Gumball Rally " If you can catch me you can have me".

Light turns Green. Plenty of traffic around but what the hell. Take off to 9K in first, gaining on her, hit second and no more room straight ahead, swoop to right hand lane even-steven, shift 3rd and no contest, right by her. Topped out at 80, shut down & cool it(more traffic oncoming). Let her by, & she purged again and turned off a mile or so down the road.

My question, is this purging thing normal?

 

In My opinion its a waste of very expensive funny gas. It has its good points. It helps to give a nice sledge hammer hit of nitrous. Maybe good for a .2 off the quarter mile at best. Its really for show if ya purge more than once in a five minute span. Pruging gets the air (gas) out of the line. Ya want liquid in the line.

 

I don't want to sound dumb, or imply that you don't know what you're talking about, but did you see the spray come out of somewhere or did you just here a noise that sounded like purging? If you just heard the noise, I would assume she had a BOV on her turbo eclipse.

 

I am all for smoking ricer but...I don't want to sound dumb, or imply that you don't know what you're talking about, but did you really kill that Eclipse?

In reading that above I read...gaining on her...even....by her. All that leads me to believe it was close and if you did win it wasn't by much.
