Default Learn a lesson the hard way

To everyone that says street racing is okay or safe, think again. I went 2 1/2 years without a single accident or ticket. August 31 rolls around, and it was a big wake up call. My friend in a Ford Ranger, yes a ford ranger, passes me and as we leave another friends neighborhood. I did'nt bite, but then my other friends does the same thing in his saab 9-5 aero. I bit. I stepped on second gear caught up to and blew by my friend in the saab. I think shifted to third around a slight corner. I go to pass the ranger. My car slid out of control at about 70+mph, i tried to correct it but it was to late. I hit my friend with my passenger door which slid my around in circles over the curb and into a house. Meanwhile, the ranger lost control and flipped three times, he was going roughly 50MPH. Amazingly enough...he was not wearing a seat belt and walked away from this accident. My car is absolutely F***'d and his truck, well it rolled 3 times. I was once an idiot who said "that wont ever happen to me". Take it from the idiot who it did happen to, its not worth doing. I destroyed my $22,000 car(which i do pay for, not mom or dad,$480 a month) and now im facing charges of marked lanes, speeding, reckless endangerment and racing. Yes i may very well lose my license and yes i am going to be paying for aboslutely unbelievale insurance rates. And if your all wondering what car is next for me, yes another s2000 next spring will be in my drive way. It is a safe car but i strongly suggest to race on a track and not on the streets. I probably sound like im fifty but these words are coming straight from an 18 year olds mouth. I almost killed a good friend of mine and i almost died too...I thought my car was my life, but in the end of the day, its just metal. You can raplace the car, but you cant replace your life or the life of one of your good friends....So please dont street race, its stupid, pointless and this is what a track is built for. -thanks

hard way to learn, but glad you're okay. take it from someone thats been in your position before, and take it to the track.
