Arrow Lightning?

Anybody ever had any experiences with Ford lightnings?? As I drove down the towns strip one started toying with me you could clearly hear the supercharger as he tried to make it as obvious as possible by pulling up beside me backin off and back up again.. got to admit I felt that it would walk me like I was nothing considering I'm just about stock And the the mods I do have like my 18 OZ ultraleggaras dont really play in my favor but I decided to give it a little taste of V-tec as I floated on 2nd around 40 nonetheless. I hung with him decently for a sec considering my handicaps were doing him a favor, we hurryied past 50 sped on to 60 he had manage to pull on me to the point where my gleaming headlights fell even with his bed I continued on to 75 by now I was at his bumper... we slow due to traffic and the occasional patrol officer that pops out of nowhere like roaches, But I didn't feel right about the result.

So as we coasted side by side to give our props on the run and exchange the detail on our cars,he was stock also and a automatic, taking this into consideration should I have pulled on him or does this sound like a typical result, I also felt temped to ask for another race from a dig but I figured it would put a car or two on me.

their stock numbers are very close to ours and ive pulled away a bunch of times from one. my best friend has one with intake, throttle body, full exhaust, etc. but it really is flawed by the automatic transmission. 4 spd and long gears. so ill pull when im in vtec

If I am not mistaken, those lightnings rn mid 13's stock.. They are virtually the same motor as the 03+ cobras... 5.4L supercharged 3 valve putting down about 385 crank hp. I used to be big on the SVT forums and those things can easily be upgraded putting down serious power..

never underestimate one, they are one of the best sleeper trucks on the road. stock for stock they are a bit slower than a stock s2k, but with as little as a tune and exhaust they hand you your ass on a platter.

my uncle has one. I/E/tune/ported blower/port&polished heads=500whp/630wtq. 5000lbs race weight, 12.2@118.

I disagree with this. Stock per stock, they are a little bit quicker than S2000. The torque and grip helps them to 60mph from 0 in low 5 secs, to 1/4mi in mid 13s, but the trap is a hair over 100mph. That's a bit quicker than stock S2000, but then again, they have 150 more hp, so it's not surprising. Put enough hp in a tank and it'll outrun an S2000.

when my uncle was stock he could never get me. he ran 14.2's stock. you really have to tq brake them to get those numbers. on drag raidials he could get me, but his trap was always lower.

i guess it more of a drivers race between the two. damn fast for a full size pickup.

Lightning's are pretty quick! A very good friend of mine has a 2003 Lightning. When I raced him with my S2000 like 2 year's ago, I would pull slowly, but steadily on him from a 2nd gear roll. Out the hole he would be right next to one of my 8k launches, but then as we got 3/4 the way through 1st I would start to inch, then slowly be pulling. There pretty quick, about on par with a stock s2000 if driven well. They run in the 13.8@100-101 range, but can pull 1.8 60ft's with DR's in stock form. And they have serious mod potential!! There like 1k worth of mods away from 12's! It's sick the thing's my friend tells me about that truck...His is just chipped, and just ran 13.6@102 with a 2.1 60ft a month or two ago. And I raced him in my stock G35 coupe a few week's ago if you guy's would like to see..

Driver's race then. But in a Lightning, you just smash the gas and go. In an S2K, you'd have to be in an optimal gear to keep up.

I agree. My buddy bought an 03 a month ago. Its stock with the exception of an intake. My s2k is bone stock. He'll hand my ass to me 9/10 times.
