Default lost to a modded IROC

as i was leaving the movies tonight after seeing "ELF", a iroc camaro plus up and asks if i want to run.. so we go to a industrail park were there is a strait away....my mods are cai and exhaust.. his were hollowed cat, header exhaust, cai, pulleys, rear gears, it was an auto. it was 36 degrees out ... we line up and my friend gets out to drop his hands and start the race...... i drop it from 4 grand and spin a little..... if i dropped it any higher i would just spin sideways cause i tired it earlier and my tires won't grip up...so he pulls 2 cars ahead . i finally hit vtec and start to make up my ground. we had to shut down about 1/4 mile down cause the road ended.... but when we shut down i was at his door.... there where about 7 people watching and they all said i was starting to pull on him as we reached higher speeds..... i know it was a lose, but i can't help to think that if i could launch and go strait into vtec i would have won.... oh well win some loose some.

when i didnt have my intake...a 6k launch would keep me spinning and land me in vtec land....but now a 5 k launch with the intake , and im like spinning way too much!!!
i think a good launch with your car is a 4.5k launch as i am doing, and depending on the weather u could bog or launch right
with a good launch u could have stayed even in first , and then u gain ,
good luck practicing, and to make it even better get a G-tech , it can help loads! i have mine on order

Auto means most likely he had a 350 small block in there...5.7L Stock they where good for there day but dogs now. It was high 6's 6.8 or so to 60 and I believe low 15's in the quarter. So his mods helped. Most likely it was the gears
that got him the jump. If ya open up the engine on these cars they can become monsters. But it sounds just about right. Not bad considering he has almost three times the displacement. A pair of 4.44's and you would have had him the whole way! Its tough to get a good launch when its that cold outside with s02's
Ya really got to warm them up maybe even do a few burnouts before the race ...otherwise too much power all ya get is wheel spin....to little and your not in vtec right away. When its 36 degrees out it is incredible tough to get a good launch. Win some lose some is a great attitude there is always someone faster. Your get him next time! After a race like this I like to beat up on a probe or a civic...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! It happens! Good race. Good that ya posted as it happened!
