My friend with the M3 has never gotten challenged either. Strange. He had a souped up Eclipse before and every other block got revved on. ran down the street a few days ago with a black S2000, but he revved first.

I would like to know how hte M3 convertible fares against teh s2000 since both then would be convertible. The M3 coupe has better aero. I believe that an M3 convertible and our s2000 is an even race boiling down to the driver. Any opinions???

I get revved on by every shitbox, Pep-boys styled, neon-wiper bladed kid from here to New Hampshire. For the life of me, I can't figure out why but I guess they just want to see and hear the car going WOT. Most of the kids give me a thumbs up so I don't think its based on delusions of grandeur. There aren't many S2000's in Vermont (I spent an entire summer driving around the state and probably counted only six). I don't usually treat them because as loud as the Tanabe is, at VTEC in 2nd gear, it's like sending out an SOS to every black and white within two miles. Maybe the aura of the S2000 has worn off in many parts of the country but here in Vermont, it still is a car that will have people walk out of their way in a parking lot to take a look.
As for the radio in the BMW. My '99 Z3's stereo would have shown an improvement had I connected two paper cups with a fishing line. The worst system I've ever had in an automobile...by far. Why does BMW insist on throwing Kraco-worthy head units in cars costing $50K?

I miss my E46 I just heard way too many engines "exploding" and reliability problems :sigh: Other problems were also in play but I would love to drive another SMG equipped BMW soon

People are blowing this way out of proportion... it was primarily early production SMGII equipped cars that had these issues. Most M3 owners have had no problesm... it's like saying the S2000 has reliability issues because some of the earlier produciton cars had #4 piston failures. It's HIGHLY exaggerated.

I raced an m3 it was an older guy, he was really cool..we didnt floor it off the line we kinda just went slowly then we both hit it, ..his car stayed at about my door which i thought was cool cuz that meant i was in the lead...anywho....if i were to race him again, i would beat him a lot more than that...but only cuz i can drive it a lot better...it has s/c-/h/i/e......it was still fun..
