me vs. B18C CRX
on the drive home tonight and a rather used looking crx pulls out of a side street about 2 blocks in front of me. he jumps on it and its LOUD. like totally uncorked loud. as i am listening to the crx wind out, i hear vtec transition. what? there aint no single cam in that thing! i pass him on the left and am just tooling along top down on the way home. as soon as i pass him he jumps in behind me and follow me for awhile. well after a bit he starts to feel froggy. he rolls next to me just hanging in second. blah, bu bu bub , blah, wop, wop. all kinda crackles and pops and little backfires. damn. well its been a while since i exorcised the demons so i drop her down to second. he hits it with no warning and is off to the races. i jump on it and pull past him like hit the rev limiter. i though he backed off, i lift and hear the crx at full battle cry still so i tip back into the throttle. we get to a light side by side and he gives a thumbs up and says i caught him off gaurd? what? he hit it first!!! he mentions he has a GSR swap running open header. why? i have no idea? now he wants to go from a 5 mph roll. sure? i just do the ole rolling clutch drop, bye! put about a air craft carrier length on him. he just flashes his lights and turns off, i flash the peace sign.

If we would have been running a real B18C - (Japanese ITR motor) and proper exhaust, he coulda got you. Those things do not play in that light of a car.

The open headers are hurting him. Good kill.

I agree! going from a roll on a 1.8L and open header is not helping his cause. A launch may have been a better choice for him.

actually he still would have lost. At higher speeds open header doesn't effect performence, may even help him out. it's light yes but still not enough to the wheels to win up top. Probabl no traction down low either.
