Me vs New Supercharged Mustang

Me vs New Supercharged Mustang
I was cruising to the house tonight and came across a Mustang so figured I'd see how my S would stand up to it now that's she's turboed. I honked at the guy and he was game. We were cruising about 38-40, but I decided to leave it in third to start just because I figured it was stock with a loud exhaust.
So, I gave it 3 honks and right off the bat he jumped 1 and a half lengths on me (I'm like WTF?), but once I hit full boost I started pulling closer to him. I only went through 3rd and 4th before he let off. It looked like he let off when my front bumper was around the rear bumper or rear quarter of his car. I was pulling on him slowly so had I started in the right gear I may have had a better chance to win or at least be closer.
I don't have all the details, but it was supercharged with full exhaust so it probably puts down some nice numbers. Anyway, he was cool and I think we were both a little surprised, but we gave each other compliments and then I had to turn. Now I know kinda how she stands up to some competition as is, so I should fare a little better once I get back on the dyno for final tuning.
Anyway, just thought I'd share my loss. Not ashamed at all! Be safe and have fun everyone!

Yep, that's what I was thinking.
My setup is precision 6266, synapse front mount manifold, ID 1000. We left the tune pretty conservative because of the injector clip problem I had, but it made 355whp dyno jet numbers on 9.8 psi. Last night I saw 11psi. Car will be going back on the dyno either this week or next week for final tuning.

Stock 5.0 puts down 335whp at the wheels and 416 at the crank. With a intake, axle back, and a tune the whp goes to 370whp give or take 5whp. So NO they don't put down over 400whp unless heavily modded.

While they don't put down 400whp stock it doesn't take much. Stock the new 5.0's seem to put down 365+ whp. Intake and a 93 tune can get them to 400whp no problem. Very impressive engines!

Totally feasible. Ive got a fun 2 lane hwy leaving town which merges into one lane right about 1/8th mile mark. I've had a lot of fun leaving town on that light with various cars over the years. I picked off a 2012 GT from a dig, taking him by 3 cars at the 8th mile merge with my 375whp SC set up. I had him by a car before I shifted to second gear. I put a car on him with each gear change, maxing out 3rd before letting off. Should have been closer I thought, but I think I drove my car better then he drove his. Or my power to weight, regardless of powerer band differences, was just better in my car. It is fun beating up on muscle cars at their own game, and without even having a particularly fast car

I don't get what you're trying to say here. Why did you mod the piss out of your own car if you aren't impressed by cars like the new GT's? Seems like you ARE impressed and wanted something like that for yourself, so you built it. What am I missing?
