Man pisses me as this happens more and more, while the police pay no mind to true criminal such as paroled murderers and rapists who are slapped on the wrist and released again while innocent citizens gotta deal with this BS

Wow that's pretty messed up.... God i hate dirty cops! They should be sent to prison and released into general population. I'm sure the inmates would have a field day w/ them. And much deserved too.

I hate dirty cops but I also hate the ACLU. So I wouldn't buy off on the whole story yet. There's probably 2 sides to the story and both are slanted. This just happens to be the ACLU's slant. I've seen them try to flip things around too many times to trust this one article solely.

Now, if it went down as the article reads it seems the cops need to have their badges pulled, they need to be locked up and the victims need a good bit of restitution.

However, the one thing I don't buy is that they didn't see the lights. We have tons of undercover PD here in San Antonio and everyone of them is well lit when they go off. You'd have to be a blind man that couldn't find his own @$$ to miss them. Maybe it's different in Miami though...

I agree completely.

The ACLU has really slanted things in the past to gain public support, but if this really happened those cops better get what's coming.

I suppose you could miss the lights if you are under the influence of some serious stuff. He might have been considering he kept driving and escaped with a bullet in his chest.

Ya i could see the ACLU slanting things but so does the police department, i wonder if they had cruiser footage? I just find it odd when it comes to things like this and the police are in question they do not have footage yet when they apprehend a serious criminal and are doin clean police work, there is always footage to back them up. And on this note, it seems to just be Florida police that are in question really because i travel alot for my work and police in places like Chicago and other big cities are very reasonable guys and respectable and will only give you a hard time if you deserve it for doin something stupid or dangerous unlike fla where youre a serious criminal for having a clutch slip.

The driver has already been convicted of fleeing and attempting to elude. It looks like the case is now on appeal, with possible representation by the ACLU.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

Around here I thinks it's pretty unusual for non-uniformed officers in unmarked cars to make minor traffic stops.

I believe the tape starts rolling as soon as the lights are turned on in a normal squad car. Now, being that this was an undercover unit it's possible they didn't have it or that it got "lost"

There are three sides to every story -- yours, mine, and the fact.

I'm not defending those cops, but I have to at least hear their side before jumping to a definitive decision.

fix a story here and there and you've completly lost the truth.

I agree with all of you! There is usually 3 sides to a story his, hers, and the truth. It seems to me that, video or not there should be enough eye witnesses to check this story out. The part about the cop telling the paramedic not to rush to the hospital, may be a stretch of the truth. They need to gather up the paramedics who responded to this and ask them about it. If I was one of the paramedics, I would like to think I could remember a comment like that. It's out of line! I saw that this happened way back in 2001, why are we just now reading about it?
