I didn't realize these things were that fast. But I pulled up next to one today complete with all wheel drive, blow off vavle, 3" exhaust, etc...

I have a few mods myself, so I thought this wouldn't be too tough. But we started at around 50 MPH and ran up to 120 MPH (never raced to that high of a speed before) but anyway I had him by less than 1/2 of car when we stopped. I'm sure with his high end turbo power he would of ended up passing me, but I stopped anyway (too high of speed for my blood). It was pretty much even the entire way...so I'll take it.

It was a good race. Anyone ever raced one before?

Not a drag race in the S2K, but there was a modded example at our last Streets of Willow event. Wasn't much in the corners as I was all over him (and under braking too), but any time he got a chance to go full throttle he'd put lengths on me. Might have been a bit closer at sea level since turbos don't suffer as much at high altitude as high output NA engines, but either way he was plenty quick in a straight line.

I've raced two of the older GSX's before. One smoked me on the highway, the other barely pulled away from me on the street. The one on the highway had an much larger turbo than stock as I could hear it very easily. The GSX on the street could have had an AM turbo, but I wasn't sure. Either way, both of those cars were pretty fast and have made me respect the GSX...they can be made very fast, very easily.

You gotta be real careful with the DSM AWD turbos. They are cheap to buy and easy to mod and get a LOT of power from. Guy around town here has a Gen1 eclipse that dynos 500 at the wheels. He bought it for $5K and spent about the same amount in mods. He hasn't dragged it lately, but this past summer he was in the low 11's.

thats weird, I raced the last gen eclipse GS-T at towers here in South FL, last weekend and he was pushing 15pounds of boost in a custom turbo and I just pulled away.... this was at a red light from about 0-70mph then I slowed down to about 50mph and he slowed to even up with me he looked at me, nodded and then we both pushed it, and again I walked him,... from 50-105mph by bout 3-4 car lengths.

I raced my friend's younger brother with a modded Talon. This was the race of races in my group, because we have the fastest cars. My friend has been talking shit all the time saying that the Talon would "walk" me. Heh heh.

- blow off valve
- greddy intercooler piping upgrade
- pushing 15-17 lb. of boost

1st race:

I missed the green light, and he had the jump on me...I took off after him anyway, and I noticed that his tires were spinning too much. He was too far ahead so I gave up.
Victory: Talon

2nd race:

This time, we both took off pretty even and I got him good on the takeoff (by now my tires were warm, and I had a good launch). I pulled a bit further away through the gears, and pretty much shut down at the end of third gear. I had him by about a car length and a half.
Victory: S2000

3rd race:

About the same thing as the second race.
Victory: S2000

4th race:

My friend's brother was getting aggrevated by this point, and he decided to try to blow his engine by boosting to 17 lb.! When the light turns green, he gets a pretty decent launch...while I pull a not so good one. He is ahead by half a car length through 1st and 2nd. 3rd gear I start to pull on him and I come close to pulling even, then I see this cop comming toward us...as well as a cop on the next intersection! He shuts down before me and I pass him up. I don't know why we didn't get busted, but the cops didn't do anything. He claims victory on this one...but I say we didn't finish.
Victory: inconclusive
