Default modded new mustangs

do new mustangs have a lot of modding potential? i know i can take them stock (i have I/TP/E right now) but if i see one with an exhaust or something do i assume that he gained a lot from it? because i know that the new Si's can gain a lot from breathing mods and those WRXs make crazy gains off of breathing mods. just wondering, TIA.

The new mustangs are severely restricted, so yes you let them breathe a little better and they have tons of potential. It is a V8 after all. (I assume you are talking about V8 models, anything else is garbage)

Even with I/TP/E i don't think the S can take the new stangs(stock)....that's just my .02. But then again, anything could happens...bad driver...misshift...distance of racing....from the dig or roll.

How do they handle from factory? Not so good, Al. Pretty sure they have a live rear axle = not so precise handling. Don't get me wrong. They have plenty of power potential from factory, but unless you get the Roush (independent rear suspension), the handling will hit a wall fairly quickly. Just my 2 cents, I could be wrong.

Their weight seems to be a bigger limitation to handling. But on the street that limit rarely comes into play, unless you're up on a mountain road.

the suspension is from the stone ages, but if launched well a new stock mustang gt has enough torque to hang with a e46 m3 for a bit

up top the m3 will dominate

but again, the mustangs are pretty good to mods
