Im going to get gas at my local station,,heres this lightning with really big borla tips out the side,the blower is whining at idle,,he looks down and asks if that is an NSX!!I tell him nope its a honda and then the import hater showed his true colors and gave a smirk..SURE I SAID even if he could beat me its damp out and im going the same way he was on this highway by my house,,i pull around him and bounce,,im going 90 now and he catches up i beep twice and were off i pull a car length..
He pulls next to me at 120 ,,i start pulling away at 130 something ,,Then he backs off once i get a car length on him..
I think at the drags he would have taken me out,,not sure

I'm pretty sure 4th gear on the "L" is an overdrive... So that's probably why he pulled you a bit then fell back (when he hit 4th)... Also those things are attrocious when it comes to aerodynamics... So you're right, if he ran so close to you on the highway, he probably would have walked you at the track.. Pretty bada$$ for a truck if you ask me...

Top end is not his forte....I've seen them running high 12's at the track with pulley upgrades etc..

Sorry guys the lightning will eat the s2k from the start. On a roll the s2k will come out on top due to the aerodynamics of the lightning, and the fact that they cant get out of their own way from 90 and over. I have seen stock 01 lightnings run mid 12's.

 

I think he knows the L would win from a stop, but in these circumstances it was wet and they went from a roll so advantage S2k.

 

I raced one before from about 20-80.

I don't think he got the jump on me, but I remember he was slowly pulling away...I gave up at 80mph because we were on a busy feeder. He pulled about a car length on me.

 

Yeah, that's a good comparison... A sub-3000lb sports car versus
a 5000 lb truck. Frankly I think the fact that he kept up with you shows
just how impressive the L is! Perhaps the driver was exercising a little common sense when he backed down from 130mph.
Maybe you should try your luck against a Mustang or Camaro of the
same price range.

 

IM WAITING for a stang or z28 to mess on top ,cause im not the one whos gonna give at speeds over 140..This lightning
was hooked up and YES i heard it whine,,ive been to the track for 7 years and seen already a lightning in 11.8ss ..
