HOW ABOUT local side of 80 west from teaneck to hackensack exit,,easily 5 or 6 cars at a time racing in excess speeds over 120..
how about parkway ,,turnpike is easy to fly if you know the speed traps,,and experience ,man listen ive been in enough top speed runs than i can count,,driven any thing from 18 second vw rabbit ,,to 10 second old school big block camaros,,i know im silly to speed on the public highway but its very much possible if its open,,at night ,,and other sickos runnin with ya
peace,,oh and jersey has some really open stretches,,gotta look ,,and 287 is a must to visit..no flame intended but its possible to go 150 plus by my house cause of the highways around me..80,46,turnpike,208,route 4maybe,287 most definetly..ill think of more........

Yeah, that's a good comparison... A sub-3000lb sports car versus a 5000 lb truck. Frankly I think the fact that he kept up with you shows just how impressive the L is!
Nice first post on our board. As an obvious Lightning owner surely you can do better than that. Just so I understand you right, next time I am going to race a Lightning at speed I should see if he wants to pull over and go from a dead stop up to 80 to make it fair? What kind of jackass are you?

Perhaps the driver was exercising a little common sense when he backed down from 130mph.
I see. So using your logic, street racing up to 130MPH is common sense. I like that.

Run what you brung and quit whining.

>Nice first post on our board.

Oh, come on...Lighten up.
You're just pissed that you spent over $30k for a car that is easily smoked by cars costing $10k less.

I'm not an import hater, like some people.
I love all cars, especially sports cars. I just hate reading about people who THINK their cars are superior, bragging about "beating" a car (or truck) in a completely different performance category.
Let's compare apples to apples here. Don't brag about besting a vehicle that weighs 1 or 2k lbs more and has the aerodynamics of a brick wall. That's pathetic.
I'll be impressed when I see an S2k beat a 996 or Lotus. Everything else is heresay.

>As an obvious Lightning owner...

Nope. However one of my cars far exceeds the S2000 in all-around performance. I just don't brag to the world when I embarrass an A/C Cobra or Corvette.

>What kind of jackass are you?

Not a jackass at all. In fact, you'll notice I didn't stoop to your level in my reply.

>I see. So using your logic, street racing up to 130MPH is common sense...

No, given the right conditions with competant drivers/ vehicles, 130 is a walk in the park. I've seen the high side of 160 on more than one occasion. I just don't think driving a Lightning over 130 is very safe, given it's dynamics. Hence, backing down was the right thing for that driver to do.

>Run what you brung and quit whining.

I'm not the one whining...-and I'll run what you "brung" any day of the week my friend.
I'm just asking for a fair comparison, not some encounter blown out of proportion by someone with a biased perspective.

While Lightnings are quick, you can only make a brick wall go so fast.

Come on man, what kind of statement is that? I've seen Lightnings knocking on 10 second 1/4 miles...and quite a few at that..I've never seen an s2k run that fast. Not to knock the s2k by any means, as I know that's not it's playing field, etc. My point is, why spend time knocking (maybe this wasn't your intent, but it goes for everyone who was) a great vehicle, arguably the best in it's class, and something that is about as close to the s2000s market as say... a ride on lawn mower.. Wanna rag on something? Rag on an M Roadster, or a Boxster...Just joking Just enjoy cars and give respect where it'd due. As a rule of thumb, no matter how fast you are, you will be humbled in the end.
