Thumbs down mods. please LOCK this THREAD!

on my way to the golf course over the weekend so my trunk had my full set of clubs in it. On the right turn from 29 to clifton rd i follow this new silver GS430 (05 or 06). he took this turn harder than usual so i figured he might want to play. but i was going at about 15 on this turn so I was in 2nd gear. I got caught off guard when he went WOT and didnt bother downshift to 1st. i also usually dont downshift in the middle of a turn (unless i can pull off a perfectly executed heel toe here) so i just stomped on the gas after the GS and off we went.
it took a bit b4 the vtec kick in. i could smell his exhaust fumes so i know he was on it. even after VTEC kicks, it was DEAD EVEN. I didnt gain an inch nor did he pull on me till we shut it down at about 87ish. i slowed after that because there's traffic ahead and he then took a left to get into his neigborhood.
i'm kind of impressed considering how heavy a luxury auto 4dr car it is (i use to own a lex coupe 5spd). then again I was caught a bit out of my powerband so I guess i could've done a little better. are u guys having similar experiences or did i just let him get off too easily ?

Never ran one. Has the same engine as a IS350 just in a bigger package.

if u started in the powerband u probably could have edged him. good run anyways, the GS430 is by no means a slouch IMO. also u had extra weight, and we all know how a light and relatively torqueless car like the s2000 get impacted by extra weight...

He was probably sipping wine and enjoying a fine Cuban cigar . On a serious note, that car is sweet and nicely powered............

actually it has an even bigger engine. a 4.3 liter V8. Thats why it's called a GS430 and not GS 350. And lexus has always used their engine size in the numbers behind their models of cars. 350 =3.5 and so on.

GS450 and LS460 are faster than a stock S2000 from a roll.

OOps I was thinking about the V6 in the GS350 version which oddly enough has more hp.
