My experience with one was different. My 5.0 walked on the auto GT from a 70 punch rather decisively. They vary I guess. Like anything. This car still had temp tags too. Maybe not broken in yet.

here are a few pics of the ol' girl and her replacement (which owns her in EVERY ASPECT) 50-100 with me starting in THIRD! in the WS6 (thats lugging at 3K rpm) I had by dad by well over 2 cars. Starting in 2nd woulda prolly been 3-5cars at 100.
Oh, and here is proof that none of you will ever have a cock anywhere NEAR as big as mine.

ya, thats no stock 5.0, sick mod list too!
67 Coup's mods so far:
351---> 408
AFR 185
Edelbrock RPM
Holley DP 750
MSD dizzy/ign.
SCAT stroker forged 4340 crank
SRP forged pistons/connecting rods
Lunati custom ground cam
re-built Toploader tranny with Centerforce clutch.
Ford 9" with detroit locker and 3.55's
^should be a mid 400whp combo. 9.5:1 mid-grade friendly
Anywho, I wanted him to get into a 5-speed car with some gears to get a feel for things.
I was underwhelmed with the 5.0 personally. 244whp...I was just kinda hurt I guess. Had I done an electric fan/water-pump I prolly woulda had around 270whp or so I guess. And GT40P heads suck for that cam. I needed more flow above .400.

The WS6 should make @300whp. It gets 27.5 mpg on the highway at best and avg's. around 26.5 so far on trips.
It raped the 5.0 from a 50 punch and that was with it in 3rd at 3K rpm...
