My first worthy kill!
Hey all, I've read about all kinds of street races with Lightnings and Vipers and C-5s but coming from Enid, needless to say I don't see a lot of those cars. There is a highly modded Civic-Si that resides in God's country, however. It's a sexy ride for sure w/ a DVD player, booming system (pair of Alpine Type-Rs), NOS (he didn't say what kind of setup, a G-Reddy turbo, and lots other stuff.
Well I was cruisin around town last night on my way to the local watering hole (damn I'm starting to talk like these people!) when Si pulled up next to me. He did the typical slow and go to get my attention and it was on. I happily downshifted and used the turning lane to get around some traffic to catch up to him. The Si was a quick little ride as that was no easy task. I more caught him by way of more daring maneuvers (both bold and daring!) than anything else. But I caught him and pulled away and we raced in line for about 1/2 mile until we hit the innevitable red light. Tdum, tdum, tdum. (I'm gonna win, Visualize the win...) 6000rpm...7000rpm, green light, screeeeeeeeech, and we're off. I had a beautiful launch, one of my better I think and it paid off. I got a good car and a half jump on him quick, but then the turbo lag ended and he caught back up to about mid way up my car. That's never happened before. I wonder what's going on? I took a quick glance over at the competition and saw he was concentrating on the road, hmm good idea. SO I quickly snapped back. Boom, 3rd gear. Not the greatest shift, should've speed shifted. Oh well too late now. But what's this, we're pulling away. So that's it mister Si?!? no more big moves out of you huh? Seems like we've been driving for hours, that must have been at least 1320 by now. I started to slow and the victim followed suit. I are the champions, my friend....
That's when I found out about all the goodies on his ride. I could tell he was turboed by the way his car reacted, but his NOS wasn't turned on. That would have changed things.. Turns out he already knew I was supercharged, he'd heard it from someone. Guess word travels fast in a little town.
Anyway, it's like your first girlfriend. Killing your first worthy car is special. Just thought I'd share the experience with my buds here at s2ki.

good kill, a guy around here has a supercharged SI and we were joking about racing each other. We never did, i just wonder how it would turn out. His Jackson SC had problems running so we didn't run last time i saw him, but i didn't want to anyways, sometimes i just feel like racing is a choir.
