Raced A 300zx Turbo
I was pulling out of applebees tonight and wound up directly behind a 300zx turbo in the left turn lane. Well, I had to do a U-turn and I was hoping he did too. Hooray, he did. So we both get on it after the turn and we run into a little traffic, but what's that up ahead...it's a stop light that just turned red. I'm all excited all ready and looking for the coppers. None in sight. Unfortunately we couldn't line up next to each other on this 3 lane road...(University Parkway in Sarasota). Anyway...we both know it's on so as soon as the light turns we go. He pulled to the far left lane as soon as we cleared the cars and we had a good straight. Even with the lead he had...I pulled him in as soon as vtec kicked in (oh yeah, I bogged at first, ha) and by second gear I was even, end of second I was pulling and by 80 mph I had about two cars and he let off. He was a real cool guy and we gave each other thumbs ups. Then we both hit our left turn on the same street real hard and fast.
His car appeared to be pretty stock except for a fairlady z sticker.
I thought he would have beaten me pretty good, but I was very pleased with the outcome. It's my first win against a worthy opponent since I've had the car. (I lost very bad to a 04? modded cobra and a Lamborghini Gallardo)

I just did some research and found that 300zx TT's ran 13.8's new. It's possible it was turbo I guess, and just a little run down. Or a bad driver. Who knows...all I care about is that my food was good.

Nah 13.8 with a 300zxTT is by a VERY good driver. The 300xTT and s2k stock are pretty mcuh dead even. Mid 14s or low 14s are much more common. But then again the 300zx is pretty old by now and lots of things could be wrong with it.

300ZX TT was 14 or low 14's on average, certainly a match for an S. Same with 350Z. And as said, 300ZX are old and could run weaker.

s2k is no match for 300zx turbo in a drag race. he must not have been a decent driver...
