in the 5 weeks that i've had my car i've had a handful of encounters. keep in mind that i'm a beginning sports car owner and driver:

my best buddy owns a '99 v6 automatic firebird. i beat him pretty badly, so badly that i'm a buslength ahead by the end of 2nd (from a dig). but he recently had added a jet chip and hi flow cat to his flowmaster and fast toys intake, so it takes an extra second for me to pull.

i was out with my 180lb friend and i pulled slightly on a lowered rsx (probably type-s with light mods), and won from a roll by about a car length with the windows down.

the same night i raced a vw r32 (dropped to second and spun an instant) and he pulled ever so slightly, not even a fender length. i then found out the passenger window was open (dumb passengers) and the r32 had a 'chip and exhaust' and i had 30 day tags.

those are the only races that i've had. but i have scared a few away, such as a mercedes sl600 (v12) with the top down and some young guy driving one night. i dropped to 3rd and evened up with him at about 5000rpms, no bite. so i naturally zoomed off.

i also was patrolling a parking garage (to hear the echo of the engine) and a lotus was going up as i came down. i waited for him and sure enough he must have been patrolling too cuz he came right back down. i taunted him at every level, he was in no rush, and then he followed me to the road. he didn't make any moves, and we came to a stop light. i slightly revved, but no response. some middle aged guy with glasses. so i took off once again and he didn't bother. i think it's cuz he didn't want to get embarassed with all the traffic behind us!!

i also have scared away many rsx's (they turn off rather quickly) and pick on civic hatchbacks (which is kinda dangerous cuz inline-pro is right down the street from my house). gimme a break, i'm a noob at the fast car thing. i can't wait to get the inline-pro differential so i can launch safely!!

 

You didn't have to tell us you're a noob or a beginning sports car driver. Your post already gave it away.

You didn't scare anybody away either. The SL600 simply didn't want to bother with you and he shouldn't have to. SL600 goes 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds, and has a quarter mile time of 11.9 seconds. He would've beaten you by a bus length even if you were supercharged. You would've been badly embarassed if he were to run you.

And don't belittle those Type-S' either. A lightly modded Type S (intake/exhaust/chip) is almost as fast as an S2000 (and in some cases faster than some S2k "drivers").

The S2000 is a sweet car and is pretty damn fast. Respect the car and don't give the other S2K owners a bad name driving around thinking it's da shit. Plenty of faster cars out there are more than capable of handing your ass to you.

i had no intention of dreaming of beating the sl600, but we were the only cars on the road and the guy was obviously out for some reason that late so i said y not. furthermore, no matter how much of a noob i am rsx's suck and can suck it and i will always embarass them and integras too. i stayed up with an rsx in my sentra

 

kid ur an idot.. you barely beat a stockish RSX cause ur such a shitty driver, then you claim to "scare off" a lotus and SL600 LOLOL And RSX with CAI/RH and #4 is a drivers race for you from a roll......

Give him a break...he's new and excited about his S!!

When I 1st got my S, I was just crusing around town (really hunting, but..) when I rolled up on an 02' GT mustang I don't know what he had, but atleast an exhaust...anyway's, he just droped down to 2nd at like 45 mph and punched it (cought me way off gaurd) I followed by droping it to 2nd... and by the middle of 4th I was back even with him (like 3-4 car lead + momentum he had) I was so excited! I didn't know the S was this fast I though to myself...the next few day's I had such a big head on my sholder's thinking my car could take out anybody! But then you settle in, and realize that our car's are what they are, and there are faster, and in some case's MUCH faster car's out there...even shitty looking car's with "all go"! Alway's give respect to other driver's, and never just "shyt" on someone cause the car there driving isan't as nice as your's! If not, I believe you'll be looked at as a TOOL!
